This Michaels is the best around Charlotte. It's always organized, clean, and has overstock available which anyone who has an art business understands is appreciated. I love the layout of the building and how open it feels. Others feel cramped compared to this location. They have self check out now, which makes the line a little slower but it's worth it for the art goods and the location of the store being so close to everything.
Love the self checkout at this store. It makes shopping here so much easier. It's so quick and easy to use. You can even scan your coupons and you get a coupon for 20% off your next shopping trip. So don't lose it! Bags are providing next to the machine if you need them.
I didn't get the young lady's name who checked us out. Wish I had. She was so sweet. My granddaughter loved her hair, and she showed such kindness. It was appreciated. We don't have a Michael's nearby, so it's always a treat when we get to go.
Store itself was clean and organized. Staff was not friendly at all. My kids and I were looking at Halloween decor. I guess we were in a female worker's way since she leaned over my sons shoulder and started shelving merchandise. She seemed very annoyed we were in the aisle. So we moved to a different one. A male employee picked up a pillow my son accidentally put on a shelf and started walking away with it. I had to call him 2x to tell.him it was something we were buying. No I'm sorry, nothing just hands it back to my son. He continues to hover in the aisle we are in and starts picking up a broken decoration No smile, No may I help you. Nothing. I then decided to look for crochet kits and asked a young woman. She told me where e to find them and was ok compared to the 1st 2 workers. The attitude of people working there is awful. Esp towards kids. I get it kids cab be messy. But I felt like they were annoyed we were there. We spent over $100 on Halloween stuff which was rhe whole reason we came. No one smiles, says hi or can I help you at all here. If you have kids they stare and hover
I had my certificate framed here and was happy with every step of the process. The associate helped me pick out a frame and made helpful suggestions for mat colors. I love the final result and will definitely return. Would recommend.
Everything was great until I got to the new “self” check out. The gentleman, whom I'm assuming is the manager was pretty rude. It was his tone with me. He acted as if I were incompetent and to slow. There were only 2 of us checking out and no one in line. At the end, when I was paying for my purchases, he felt it necessary to come over and tell me I was using the wrong bags. I put my things in the bag to the right instead of to the left and it was placed that way for a reason. I hope others speak up. He has control issues.
I took a canvas to be custom-framed three weeks ago. It was finished within the time frame I was told. Beautiful job, excellent quality. I will definitely be using them again.
OK. Grumpy guy here. I shop and enjoy this store. They always have great crafts and they always exceed my needs when it comes to product. BUT......this last trip they has kiosks. Now I bring my items to the register, ring myself, bag myself and cash myself out! Give me a membership that tracks my purchases and offer a discount as I just saved them money? I save for you, you save for me seems reasonable? NOT I do the work that was once an employees job while you cut your overhead and profit?
So this Michael's has gone almost full self-checkout. There was a young lady there to assist, kind of like Walmart. Self checkout is fine when I choose to do it, but when it's the only option, that really bothers me.
I go here a lot because I love crafts! They usually have what I need. If their is something that is out of stock, I will order it and have it sent to the store.
