God bless Calvin and Chrissy, the owners of Michel Funeral Home. Years ago when my Father passed away we chose Kutis Funeral Homes because that was all we knew. There were multiple other funerals going on at once and it was very expensive. In a time of grief you don't think to "explore your options" luckily Michel Funeral Home was recommended but a few close family members. Upon our first meeting with Chrissy she was such a breath of fresh air after weeks of trauma. She showed us around and it felt like "home" it didn't have a somber feeling or mood and it felt "right" for our family to say goodbye to our beloved Mother. They let us set up our "shrine" to our Mother that was a bit out of the ordinary to a traditional memorial service as we adorned her cremains with a floral spread unlike any other. Chrissy helped us pick a beautiful urn that we purchased at a fraction of the price to ones we looked at else where. They took it upon themselves to find my Mother's doctor and get her body where it needed to be in a timely fashion to have everything set, completely stress free for us, her children. When I say they went above and beyond I can't say this enough. They checked in throughout the night, offered anything we needed, had a solution before any issue ever arrose and we got to celebrate our Mother in peace. Michael Funeral Home is ONE family at a time, they give plenty of space to spread out, mourn but also have a chapel dedicated to prayer and mourning. It's never easy losing a parent but it was a divine blessing to have Chrissy and Calvin do my Mother's last honors. I am eternally grateful to them, their service and I would give them an infinite star review if I could. Thank you Chrissy and Calvin from the bottom of my broken heart.

We were so blessed to find them when our mom passed. With most every other funeral home booked out weeks, they had us in by the weekend. I live out of town, and it was a huge ordeal for me not to miss more work. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was in place to take the stress off our family. Even throughout the funeral, they made sure we were ok and had what we needed. The place itself is super homey and comfortable with many rooms to spread out and not feel so cranped in one space. Beautiful home for any celebration of life. I can not thank you guys enough for making the hardest time of our life such a breeze. Thank you!

I am not one to do reviews but if anyone/ any place deserves one it’s definitely Michel Funeral home. In the last few years Calvin and Chrissy have been absolutely amazing in helping with laying two of my loved ones to rest. If you are on the fence about what to do or where to go, I would hands down go local mom and pop with these two! My mom has even decided this is where she wants to be! Thank you both! I appreciate all of your hard and caring work!

After recently losing our mother, I couldn’t have asked for a more caring and considerate interaction with a funeral home. We were treated as if we were part of the Michel family, expertly walked through all of our options and treated with the utmost empathy and consideration. In our most needed time for comfort, they were there to truly allow us the space to grieve and celebrate our beautiful mother. I would choose to use them again 10000 times over, simply due to their kindness and compassion. It’s refreshing to be treated as if death isn’t just a business model, and more so that they could meet us in a place of compassion for our loss. Thank you for everything you did for our family and our mother.

Michels funeral home is the absolute best funeral home in St. Louis, the owners are compassionate and very well educated on everything surrounding a loved ones death. They gave comfort and support, answered all of our questions and were very attentive to all of our needs. Chrissy and Calvin have hearts of gold, and truly will go above and beyond for each family. The atmosphere of the home is comforting and very homey, also overly accommodating in an amazing way. It’s wonderful that at the time of your service it is just your family and not other families services as well. We can’t thank you enough Calvin and Chrissy. You two are absolutely amazing and we wish to never lose a loved one however if god calls someone home, we will always use and refer Michels Funeral Home! DO NOT UTILIZE THIS COMPANY!! I had Chris/chrissy handle my fathers process for cremation. Her communication is terrible and speak with anxiety. Her dogs barking in the background. You could tell the busy is complete havoc! I paid for overnight shipping of my fathers remains. I didn't receive until 3/4 days later after multiple calls & emails placed to inquire. She picked up his remains 2 days later then did 2 day shipping. Delaying my other arrangements for his repass. Once I received his ashes the PACKAGING WAS Horrific while cutting through all of the excessive cheap tape I was also cutting through feeling the grains of my fathers bones that ended up all over my hands face and kitchen counter. She never explained that the death certificates would take 6 to 8 weeks. Which I inquired about she forwarded me the contact infor for Roberta. Thank Goodness which the time frame was also a lie. I have not heard from Chrissy or this terrible company since. My fathers case was finalized and signed off on March 28th. Per Roberta the 6 certified copies I paid for couldve been picked up the next day!! It is now April 19th!! Roberta was empathetic enough to tell my the cause of my fathers Death. I emailed Chris 2 days ago requesting death certificates. Still have not heard a word. So the next call will be from my Attorney!! Fyi per Chris all funeral homes in St.louis uses 1 crematory. Per her they use to have 2 and she found it comical that they other burned down. Please use any other company. AVOID THIS COMPANY!! WE HAVE ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH, WITH THE LOSS OF OUR LOVED ONES. Update! April 28th. This company finally mailed death certificates April 21st. Im sure after my initial review. I guess no one was professional enough to think to place 6 copies in a Manila Envelope or bubble mailer. Rather than Folding then up squeezing them into letter Envelope. Just pathetic.

This lady Chrissy I talked to said I cussed her out and canceled my appointment. This funeral home is a joke. I don’t know how they have a good review. Very hateful on the phone, falsely held the body wanted payment before even having the body. Was very nice when first talked to. Rescheduled the first appointment then I called to ask how long they would hold the body before they started charging me by the day.This lady was at a restaurant eating and immediately had an attitude, and was very unprofessional. Shown up for the appointment, they wouldn’t answer the door. I called over 20 times trying to find out what was going on because I was there making arrangements and wasn’t getting no answer from the phone and doors were locked. Ended up talking to the owner finally and he’s talking all sarcastic saying we figured you canceled the appointment when you cussed her out and hung up. Never cussed anyone out nor hung up the phone. Either way people are grieving and dealing with a lot of emotional stress and if someone did end up using profanity or hanging up should be understandable to a certain degree.I set up a GoFundMe with the info to donate to them, that they received funds and just kept.

We had a wonderful experience with Michael's funeral home. We will recommend anyone going thru hard times to use them as they took such great care of my family and I.

I want to say "Thank you" to Mrs. Christy and Mr. Calvin for their exceptional support and services they've provided for my family during our time of comfort during the past few years. The environment feels so comfortable with each room they offer during your stay. They go above and beyond to help you and your family's needs. Thank you again for your support, comforts and for being there for our family.

If you are reading this you are morning and you have my sympathy. I know how hard this time is for you so I ask you to please for your own peace of mind to look for another Funeral Home. The owners are a couple he gave a wonderful service for my daughter ! But Chrissy is a different story she doesn't tell the truth she Cussed me out because I asked her for death certificate she said she didn't have to put up with this and I was told to not call her back please understand that I have been waiting 5 months.I don't see that as harassment but Chrissy did! The last thing you need right now is a a NASTY Funeral Director and that is Chrissy!!!! Nasty Nasty Nasty!!!
