The best cake maker and dessert selection we have found. Owner is very kind and welcoming and gives generously to the Salem community. The expert work and designs of her cakes keep us coming back for all of our family occasions. The pies during the holidays are handmade from scratch and divine! You need to shop for your sweets here! They are all delicious! She even has special products for those with dietary concerns.

Michelle Ashley made us a cake that was absolutely PERFECT for our sons 6th Birthday! Our son is dye free and they allowed me to bring in the plant based dye to make his cake! Our son picked chocolate for his top tier and vanilla for his bottom tier. To say this tasted AMAZING is an understatement! The kids loved it and the adults loved it even more! Everyone asked where I got it from so I gave them the information for future birthdays or any special occasion! Thank you all so much for making this cake for his birthday! I will be a returning customer for all our special occasions!

I got 3 items for 17$ Two Cupcake Cones that were 3 per, 1 German chocolate cupcake was 4 for one cupcake, and 1 Banana Split Bar was 7. My kids enjoyed the Cupcake Cones, and it was a nice thing for them to try. The German chocolate cupcake wasn't my favorite. The cake itself was very delicate and soft and wasn't bad, but a lot of it stuck to the wrapper. The frosting was too heavy for the cupcake, and once out of the wrapper, it cause it to deflate. The Banana Split Bar was very much like a cheese cake and had some layers of flavor. Overall, it's not bad. Nothing that wowed me and knocked me off my feet. The pricing was a bit high, in my opinion, and I probably wouldn't come back. But it was fun to try and interesting to compare to what I love heard about the bakery.

This was a beautiful birthday cake. At first it looked dull but it got shinier and shinier during the hour it came to room temp. It wasn’t like a traditional mirror glaze. It was micro thin and that’s a good thing. The cake itself was amazing. I get a German chocolate cake every year and this was the best so far. I would definitely recommend this bakery and will be using it in the future. This cake was $100 for 6 inches.

Great communication! Cake turned out even better than the Pinterest photo I provided. Cake was delicious too!!! I had a great experience picking up my cake and staff was very friendly. I had so many compliments on this beautiful cake! Thank you, I will definitely be a returning customer!

This is the most beautiful cake. I needed a cake that was glutton and dairy free in purple. The red velvet cake with purple and burgundy icing was perfect and awesome. We were so happy with this cake!! Thank you so much.

Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was exceptionally delicious! The flavor combinations and options she had were so delightful and abundant! And when it comes to customer service, she was able to get my order in with very short notice and blew us away with her professionalism and attention to detail. Michelle Ashley Custom cakes is awesome, I had to order & arrange a wedding cake for my daughter from out of state, Michelle & her staff were very receptive, they communicated options & helped us make decisions. They arranged for a "to go cake tasting kit" It was exactly what we needed. When we picked up the cake they told us how to transport it & cut it, they were so helpful, her staff is very friendly.They cake tasted amazing! We did a lemon cake with vanilla frosting, it was so decadent & perfect! We asked for simplicity so we could add our own flowers & a cake topper that was a family heirloom. Let's not forget all the goodies in the cases when you visit her shop, not only are they appealing, they taste delicious. This place is just okay in my opinion. The customer service was great. I got cupcakes and a cannoli. I hated the cannoli, I’m not entirely sure if it was theirs or just cannoli in general but it was like licking sugar. The cupcakes were decent, but the frosting is sweet buttercream and even the cream cheese one just tasted like sugar. The cupcakes were under filled and the red velvet one had a weird texture. The German chocolate one had a way better cake texture and I did like the topping. The peanut butter one was also a bit too sweet.

Just took another cake decorating class with Michelle Ashley Custom Cakes. It was so much fun! The cake is adorable and my granddaughter is so proud of her work. They are organized and efficient with the entire process. I highly recommend this class. You will not be disappointed. Michelle's cakes are the BEST most delicious in Salem.
