Helping Our People Excel (H.O.P.E.) was founded in 1990 in an effort to address the health and social issues of those in the community who were, at the present time, underserved by existing resources.
H.O.P.E. serves as a resource for both educational and health related programming aimed at children and their families. Through a partnership with other community organizations and corporations, H.O.P.E.'s goals include:
* Expanding the opportunities for learning and involving children in activities that insure their performance in school.
* Decreasing the risk of violence and the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco among our community's youth.
* Increasing the capacity for parents to help their children educationally, emtionally, and socially.
To provide the community with the opportunity to place emphasis on cultural esteem while creating a family focus on education, economic development, violence prevention and intervention, and the overall well-being of our community's future - our children.
