Hank Greenberg Memorial Golf Invitational
Proceeds from this annual fundraising event benefit prostate and other cancer-related charities.
Bill Hertz Memorial Scholarship Awards
Based on need, this competitive scholarship is awarded to male and female high school seniors who excel in academics and athletics.
Jewish News High School Athletes of the Year
Male and female high school students are eligible for nomination. Selection is competitive and based on proven outstanding athletic achievement in individual sport(s).
Summer Camp Programs
Grants for special needs, at-risk, and/or underprivileged children.
Induction of Athletes into the Hall of Fame
Individuals are selected for inclusion annually, based on proven outstanding athletic achievement.
Alvin Foon Memorial Humanitarian Award
Established to honor the memory of one of the founders and the first president of the MJSF. Presented annually at the Hall of Fame induction dinner to a person or persons in recognition of outstanding contributions to athletics, community enrichment and for humanitarian efforts within the State of Michigan.
Hank Greenberg Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award
This award is presented to an individual who has shown a devotion to the game of baseball and whose character, perseverance, and commitment to mankind and the community best exemplifies the spirit and love of baseball, as personified throughout Hank Greenberg’s life.
Dick Schaap Humanitarian Award
Established to honor the memory of Dick Schaap for his unselfish commitment to the MJSF’s Hank Greenberg Memorial Invitational. This award may be presented annually to a person or persons or organization that exemplifies the integrity, beliefs, values, and humanitarian efforts of Dick Schaap.
Book of Life Award
Presented to a person or persons or organization in recognition of extraordinary achievement or distinction in service towards the betterment of humanity.
