Good Grief! Please hire someone to answer the phones! Going through several minutes of useless information. Just have simple questions that was eventually answered in under 10 seconds. The person I eventually connected to was nice and helpful which is why I gave 2 stars but good grief fix your phone system people.
The hours posted for Saturday is in correct! I got up early on my day off to get labs done and it was a waste of time They are closed!!!!!!!
I feel I must share my good experience with this location since there are so many previous bad reviews. I got there at 6:50 am with no appointment and was first in line. Doors opened exactly at 7. Several people followed me in and did not keep away 6 ft. Signed into Kiosk where there is a note that patients should wait out in hosp lobby or in their cars until they are called. This is a short note that everyone must agree with to finish their login. I logged in & went outside the lab to the outside waiting room. They called me in right away. She was very nice & polite. Did one stick and filled all my lab work. Usually it is not that easy. She thanked me & we both said have a good day with a smile behind our masks. As I was leaving the lab area there were 12 people sitting in chairs in the waiting room not practicing social distancing and not adhering to the kiosk message they agreed to. So the lab personnel were great and I was walking out of there at 7:15. The only problem I have are with the ignorance of the patients that do not know how to follow regulations.
Having read all the negative reviews I'm compelled to chime in. I arrived early. They unlocked the doors precisely at 7AM. I was 1st in line not 1st selected to get blood drawn but so what? In due time I was. I greeted everyone with a smile and got a smile in return. I was in my car 17 minutes after 7AM. There is not a single person in the health care profession that doesn't have a stressful job, with long hours with a few customers that don't appreciate or care about that. Just like fast food, restaurants, or any business, there's always a few that ought to just chill, find a reason to smile and no matter how you feel at the time, try to say Thank you, and smile. It gets easier to "CHILL" after you've practiced that a few times....
Unfortunately I believe this lab is under staffed. My physician uses this lab MD office located in same building. I waited 40 minutes yesterday after my physician sent my lab orders to MACL but had to leave due to time constraints. I was never greeted or acknowledged. My wait time stated “0 minutes” upon signing in on the touchscreen. The patients who had scheduled online appointments through the MACL website were coming in the interim and were rightfully seen before me. I tried to go online while at the lab and schedule an appointment but was unable to do so. I now have to go in on a different day and fast again. This is very inconvenient.
I got there when they opened at 7, checked in and was called back in less than 5 minutes. There was one person ahead of me. The nurse was kind and thoughtful. I hesitated to go to this location based on bad reviews but I had a great experience. I was driving back home by 7:15.
Expect a long wait time. Even they are under staff and/or manage their time bad. If you want to get in and out early arrive 15 or 20 minutes prior to 7am. From multiple experiences going to this lab since it is next to my house is that they don't have the staffing to be ready to take samples right at 7am. I would think that management would realize that a lot of people have to get blood taken and require fasting prior to the appointment, and that when I go to other facilities they usually have the majority of their staff in early in the morning for this exact reason. I try to avoid going to the location when possible but if I have a sample that can wait a few days I will still drop by since its next to my house and if the line is small then I will go their. Just be aware if their is more than 4 people in front of you don't expect to be out of the waiting room in under an hour. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is that when the staff finally get to you they are friendly, but slowness issues would be 1 star
My husband JUST left here ... very frustrated. He had two written orders for tests. Sat in blood-draw chair for 30 minutes because they couldn't read the physician's writing & had to wait for fax from MD. They finally figured out the draw without needing fax. The other order required a kit for him to take home. They were out & told HIM to call around! Seriously??!!! Tech said, yeah, they're on back order and we're understaffed! I know everyone's got COVD Fatigue, but come on, we also have the ability to make someone else's day by being just a tad kind.
Had a 1 hour glucose test today, so needed blood drawn at a certain time. I showed up a few minutes prior to,my blood draw because I was still with my OB until the last minute. I signed in but did not see anyone at reception until 6 minutes past the time I needed drawn, so I ran up and let them know I needed my blood drawn as soon as I saw someone. The lady looked at my paperwork and began berating me, asking why I didn't come get them before now, that this should have been done already, why did I just sit and wait, etc. I told her no one was at the desk since I had shown up, but she told me SHE was at the desk I did not see her at all. I am 27 wks pregnant with a complication and was feeling pretty emotional after an ultrasound I just had about 30 minutes prior so I burst into tears trying to explain that no one was there for me to "go get." To top it off, that same lady drew my blood and never apologized for her behavior or her tone. I have never been treated so poorly by a health care professional. Reported this incident to the supervisor, Sharon, immediately following my blood draw.
Open at 7? Complete lies. No one is in reception and there are 7 patients, myself included, waiting and it's 7:30. Obviously someone is here because the door was unlocked and the lights were on, but not a single patient has been called back. Really frustrating. Bad review. Would NEVER return.
