Beautiful area, so lush and green. Not a bad campsite to be had and more privacy than most. As someone else posted no water available currently so make sure to bring extra + to put out your fire. Hiking galore. 2 trails right next to site #11 CCC and middle fork are both well worth it. Oxbow trail on the way out made for a beautiful shorter hike.
Excellent, great space with nice trails and views. Warnings: Bears, No cellphone reception and a wide range of mosquitoes to annoy you.
This is a lovely little campground. The water pump was broken at the time. It might be fixed by now but being loud of water just in case. It's not too far to town so supplies are in easy reach. Spots 1-12ish on the west side of the campground are more forested, so I would consider them the nicer ones.
Update: Issues we had were investigated and corrective actions were taken. I’ve updated my review to focus on the camp ground itself and not the host issues we experienced. The camp ground is great with exception of the bear that makes his rounds multiple times a day. You will hear campsites yelling at the bear all throughout the day. Last I heard, the forest service was addressing the bear issue. I would say there are a lot of mosquitoes in early August and the water access isn’t great. We had to walk through a rather large camp that was set up along the river access trail which is a bit ackward.
Beautiful campground. Easy access from I90. Potable water, privy very well maintained. It called my attention that not all trash bins were bear-proof. Waste management passed by without stopping at the one close to us... The rangers told us that we would likely to see a bear with the cub around...Don't understand then why the trash is at bear's reach...
Nice and clean. Lots of hikes around and a river to relax at. We had a very peaceful experience and got to see some cool wild life. And lot and lots of tiny frogs/toads.
Very comparable to my favorite campground. This place is amazing. Awesome views around every turn. Plenty of trail heads for the hiker in everyone. Only down side is the lack of shower facilities near by.
This is a lovely campground situated within a second-growth forest. The campground is equipped with potable water, platformed tent sites, and clean toilets. For such a large campground, it's amazing how its ambiance is so peaceful and quiet. The campground is situated near some amazing hikes and scenic views. Highly recommended.
Warning: ACTIVE BEAR. We camped in the middle of the campground but still were visited by a bear that slashed all 3 of our tents while we were out in the midddle of the day, regardless of all food being in the car. Host says bear is unafraid of humans and a common occurrence . Besides bear - it was beautiful and quiet!
Very peaceful camping. Campground was real clean. Bathrooms clean. Beautiful hiking trails. We did see a bear!! We will be back.
