Midland Odessa Dance Club is a great opportunity to learn to two step, waltz, east coast swing and line dance or meet with other friends for fun activities
The purpose of the Club is provide adults with support, encouragement, and the opportunity for personal growth, through social, recreational, educational, dance instruction, dance exhibitions, and charitable activities.
MODC has been in existence for a few years and membership is open to anyone who is interested in learning or brushing up on the two step, waltz, east coast swing, folk, and line dancing regardless of skill level or age. Annual dues are $20/person. Dances classes are held on Monday of each month, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Odessa. The cost for the class is $1.00. Annual dues are $20/person Attendance varies, but you usually can get some one on one instruction.
The Moose Lodge lounge is available to order water, there's also a full cash bar.
The average MODC member is early 20’s - middle-aged (however you want to define that), and most attend as couples, although there's a consistent group of singles in attendance. You do not need a partner to take lessons. Dress skews toward casual; boots and jeans are welcomed but not required.
Our dance classes are non-intimidating, and the dancers seem to genuinely enjoy others' company. And the dance class is over early enough that getting up for work the next day is not a brutal event.
Our dance club has monthly dinners, spinner games, parties, Christmas parties, and opportunities to attend rock hound games, summer mummers and cruises and much more. We put on a workshop and dance once a year. Members attend the workshop at no cost.
