Brief history: On May 14, 2011, Midlothian ISD voters approved a bond package that included $74 million to build high school #2 (phase 1). Initial construction began on July 19, 2012. MISD School Board approves Krista Tipton as the first head principal on April 15, 2013. On June 17, 2013, the MISD School Board officially selected the school's new name, Midlothian Heritage High School.
