A few years ago one of my molars, which had a crown, had become painfully swollen and infected. I was told I needed a root canal. After doing some research I decided to get an implant instead of a root canal. My research led me to Dr. Johnson at Midwest BioHealth, who also removes mercury fillings. Dr. Johnson and his team removed 4 mercury fillings from my mouth, and added 2 crowns, while I took supplements to build up my vitamin D level necessary for successful integration of an implant with the jaw bone. My new implant was successfully added last month, along with a natural-looking crown. I live 1 hour and 20 minutes from Dr. Johnson's office, but the many trips to his office over the past year have been well worth it! Dr. Johnson is very knowledgeable, he keeps up-to-date on the latest dental research and procedures, and he takes the time to explain everything. His entire staff is top notch! My wife is now having her mercury fillings removed by Dr. Johnson and his team. I give my highest recommendation to Midwest BioHealth!
Biologic dentists are money focused not patient focused. I've had a full examination with exrays at a different dentist in the past 6 months. I know what I want and need done in my mouth. In order to become a patient here they said i need a whole set of new exrays including a CT scan to become a patient here. Because I care about my health i don't want the unnecessary radiation when they can just look at my current exrays. So they said they don't want me as a patient. All I need done is a filling but they want to sell me on their big treatment plan that they develop from all my "new" exrays they take. What a joke. I went to another biologic dentist in Cleveland and paid the initial consultation fee and he wanted to charge me 2600.00 to pull a tooth I had the same thing done elsewhere for 600.00. Do your research, in my experience biologic holistic dentists are money focused not patient focused.
I was so pleased with my recent care by Dr. Johnson and his assistants Lauren and Jennifer. I recently moved to OH and was in needing a new biologic dentist. I needed a crown replaced that another biologic dentist did a couple years ago. I had lost hope in biologic dentist since I didn't receive the best care with my crown. I'm so glad I didn't give up all hope! I was impressed when I called to schedule my appointment and spoke with Kimberly. She was very kind and informative. Biologic offices are more expensive up front when paying out of pocket but they can provide you with paperwork to submit to your dental insurance to potentially get reimbursed. It was worth every penny! I've never had a dentist spend so much time with me during my appointment that Dr. Johnson spent. Him and his team are amazing! Jennifer and Lauren were very gentle and did a wonderful job explaining the whole process.
I had to have an old and infected root canal removed..one of four. But I also have CIRS and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and it's very scary for me to attempt to even go to a dentist or any other provider really. because of the chemicals used in their offices or put in my mouth. I also am difficult to numb and I metabolize it very quickly. Dr. Johnson actively listened to my concerns and talked to me about how they protect their clients with MCS. We also did a Biocompatibility Report to make sure that the materials used for MY mouth did NOT make me sick or react badly. Honestly don't know why this isn't used for EVERY dentist. Because I metabolize anesthetic so quickly and don't react well to many of the epinephrine based anesthetics, we had to come up with an alternative game plan. I was VERY impressed with Dr. Johnsons flexibility and open mindedness to working with other holistic providers to help me not feel pain during the procedure. And it worked EXTREMELY well. First time I've ever gone completely numb during an extraction. I feel confident in Dr. Johnsons ability to perform dentistry with my other health issues especially the MCS. I would and do recommend anyone to work with him and that Biological Dentistry is the way forward. His staff is AMAZING & very good at answering questions & calming concerns. He is worth the investment in YOUR health.
Dr. John Johnson is a very skilled dentist and extremely humble for all of the knowledge he has to offer. His level of knowledge surpasses most other dentists. I appreciate the time he takes out of his busy schedule to help me understand all of the small details. He did an amazing job on my crown and another filling I had done. It was virtually pain free and finished in a short time span. I have essentially forgotten about having had the work done on the areas because of such a great result!! If you are looking for an honest dentist who will help you make the best decisions for your teeth and your over all health choices then look no further than Dr. John Johnson and Midwest BioHealth! Dr. John Johnson saved my life literally by removing chronic infection and toxicity from my mouth that had been plaguing me for years. He is brilliant and learned a great deal of his biological dentistry from the top biologic dentists and physicians in the world like Karl Ulrich Volz and Dietrich Klinghardt.
Dr. Johnson is an incredibly skilled dentist. I appreciate that he is up to date on the latest research not only in terms of oral health but also health overall. Dr. Johnson's passion for health and wellness is apparent in his recommendations and in the products that he uses and offers to his patients. I went to see Dr. Johnson to get 2 root canals removed- 1 of which I knew was infected due to generalized achiness and a small pocket of inflammation that was present under my jawline. My previous dentist had told me that it was perfectly fine. I appreciated that this office was able to use advanced technology that produced a clear image of the infection that I knew was there. Dr. Johnson and his staff were incredibly considerate of my dental anxiety that I had from the past and he made sure to always make sure that I was numb enough- by my standards and not his. I was happy that I felt that the mercury I had in my mouth was safely removed. My root canal removals went well and healed great. I had them done in August of 2019 and have not had any issues. When considering how I would replace the void that I had since I was missing 2 of my largest molars, I never felt that my own decision was imposed upon. I went back and forth for an entire year about what to do. Ultimately, I chose to do 2 bridges rather than implants due to my extensive autoimmune history. My bridges turned out beautifully. The materials are high quality. They feel and look very natural in my mouth. Overall, I have been incredibly blessed by my experience with this office. After having a year to heal I have noticed an improvement in many of my symptoms. My teeth are no longer sensitive, the pocket of infection and inflammation under my jawline is completely gone, my headaches and brain fog have improved, and I am confident that my teeth will serve me well for years to come. In addition to being happy with the work that I had done I also really appreciated how respectful Dr. Johnson was to myself and his staff.
Dr. Johnson is a good dentist and passionate about what he does, but he charges 2x to 3x as much as other good dentists. Sadly, like many holistic doctors, he sets his prices for upper income patients which perpetuates the reputation of holistic medicine being only for the elite.
Patient care is outstanding. Clean, comfortable & courteous. However, this level of service comes with a very high cost. I have been taking my family to Dr. Johnson for 20 years. I highly recommend him.
