Mt Hope Memorial Cemetery - Livonia. Terrible experience in March, 2017 planning Dad's funeral. Except for the fact the plot was already paid for, and Mom was buried there in 2008, we would have not chosen this cemetery. The grave sites are not well maintained. Our vehicle was stuck in mud when visiting to discuss the burial, and required road service to remove it. When just trying to discuss the basic burial services, we were given options for all kinds of "additional purchases". They call themselves "grief counselors", but "sale staff" is closer to reality. They take people at their most vulnerable time, and try to cash in.
Midwest memorial Group owns over 25 cemeteries and I have first hand experience with the excellent service they provided, under the leadership of Doug Miller the CEO of Midwest Memorial Group, at two locations . My mother was buried in United memorial Guardians on January 2, 2016 and one of my friends Kermit Mathena was buried January 27, 2016 in the Mount Hope Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Both cemeteries are beautiful and the staff are professional and caring. Doug Miller the CEO of Midwest memorial group is definitely running five star company. Carl Marshall
Worst company ever. They don't care about the hurting families that come to the cemetery. They are just concerned about the dollars they can squeeze out of these people. The sales people are rude at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West they rush families out the door leaving families confused about their loved ones burial or memorial they bought. I wish people would stop picking on the grounds crew. They only do whatever orders are given to them that is if they get the paperwork with the orders they need. Those guys are the only reason stuff at that cemetey gets done. The office and management on they other hand could care less.
This is regarding the East Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw, MI on Holland Rd. I've been going with my husband for over 15 years to visit his Dad and Grandpa, both resting in the veterans section. For years my husband has complained about severe flooding in this section. Every year in the spring we cannot get to the graves, and every year in the winter we cannot get to the graves. The utter disregard and disrespect to the veterans is appalling. It's heartbreaking. There's others out there too, are we the only voices who care enough about these deceased veterans?! We've been given excuse after excuse for years, and finally this year we were given an address to contact, new owners. We were told there might be a tiling project in the future, but they're unsure of how many years away this will be. This is so unacceptable! It's already been too long. How do you grieve when you can't even get to the grave because it's under a foot of water?! Now an inch of ice! We went there today with a wreath, since I knew a blanket wouldn't work. My husband had to break chunks of ice off of the headstones with a hammer, standing in a foot of slush, freezing cold and in tears. To make things even worse, there's tire tracks going across my father in laws grave! I cannot wrap my head around this. I'm shocked, and deeply saddened. The staff is rude, very defensive, and quick to hand out excuse after excuse. Please, I beg the new owners to do something about this issue.
Midwest Memorial Group allows people to come into the cemetery to play Pokemon Go. Not only that, but they told WDIV in Detroit that they plan on installing signs that welcome players to the cemetery. I can't believe this, it sickens me. Someone close to me, that died far too young is buried inside Cadillac West, and has had his grave vandalized 4 times. A cemetery is a place for mourning and remembering the life of the deceased, not a place to play games on people's loved ones graves. It's one thing for a cemetery to have a policy allowing that before you purchase your plot, but to change policies after buying it and having a loved one buried there, without asking for input from families disgusts me. What can Midwest Memorial Group possibly gain from a policy like this? His grave has already been vandalized 4 times since he was buried nearly 2 years ago, and MMG doesn't do anything to ensure security there. The gate is never closed or locked to keep people out.
Do not choose this cemetery! We chose this park for my daughter and I hate it. They allow it to be a dog run and several times while I was at her grave an unleashed dog came by and did his business on her grave. The flowers I pay for with their service are simply a place for dogs to urinate on. The grounds maintenance must aim their machinery at the bench headstone we paid a small fortune for. It is continually so covered in clippings and dirt you can't see the names at all. I go at least once a week for over three years and every time I am so sorry I placed her there. When they weed wack they cut half the flowers you paid to be placed. I have a memorial site in the Upper Peninsula woods where she passed that had more care and respect than at this highly overrated cemetery.
I am Linda Engberg, Cindy's sister from Florida and was having trouble finding the graves of my parents and family members at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. I would like to thank Rodney Pollock and Rob Honzu from the bottom of heart for helping me locate the grave sites. They were compassionate and so helpful. Wonderful People.
I was hired April 2012, at Mt. Hope ,Livonia They really need to change promises kept to something much less heartfelt. I would build a relationship with the families and the office personal adm. Chris Copper and her staff in paticular Karen would do everything in their power to destoy my relationships at any expense including being rude to the customer .corporate cares about one thing money .If money is your god this job is for you if you are incredibly gredy and are unable to feel empathy this might be for you. Humble and Greatful for the experiance. Dec 2016 no longer homeless and I have a nice car.
My father had plots at Oak View cemetery in Royal Oak and I had to deal with them last week for his funeral. The staff I dealt with was uninformed, unorganized, unhelpful and uncaring.
I was disappointed with ground maintenance at Oakland Hills Memorial in Novi, MI. The grave of a childhood friend Vietnam veteran was under water. I couldn't find it. Finally the office sent a maintenence worker out to show the location. Just a bad vibe about this cemetary.
