Most horrific place I have ever been to!!!! These people were not only judging me off my appearance but my knowledge we well. If anyone is going to judge off of appearance it should be their customers! Store smells horrific Fish tanks were not cared for properly Lied to about prices I called about some pricing I get there and I am lied to Not to mention those poor birds,rabbits, Guinea pigs in terrible terrible condition.
Very nice staff, and lots of animals. Every time I go to get feeder crickets, waxworks , super worms, or horned worms, they have them. There has been only 1 or 2 times where I have went into the store and they told me they haven’t had any. I recently got a baby bearded dragon from this store, and it has been doing very well. I recommend not taking much advice from the employees, because once they told me that repticarpet, and a light would do just fine, when the animal definitely needed a few hides and a basking area. But overall, great business, keep up the work!
I went in with a relative to just poke around because I was new to the area and I was stunned to see how terrible this store was!!! It WREAKED of animal droppings and the fish tanks were barely even visible to the public. Flies were swarming the poor rabbit and chinchillas, and the bird cages were littered with poop. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this was unacceptable. The Bearded dragons had no water, and the Axolotl had an inch of water to swim in with no sort of habitat what so ever. The fish tanks were filled with gunk and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Prices seemed high considering the state that these animals are in, and I almost wanted to adopt everything right then and there to move them into a loving home. I’m sure these people are nice, but the way they treat these animals aren’t.
I recently read a review stating that they had a dead Chameleon in an enclosure with another chameleon next to it. To that person, you don't know what you are talking about!!!! I also read a review that stated they would go Buzz n Bees in Erie. I purchased a female ferret from Buzz n Bees about a month and half ago, she died in 2 weeks. I bought my male ferret from Mike's Animal House 5 months ago he is doing awesome. I think people are making up stories just to start rumors........ GROW UP PEOPLE!!!! I visit Mike's Animal House at least once or twice a week to get crickets for my 2 Leopard Geckos. I've purchased several fish as well. I recently bought 2 pet rats and a female ferrets from Mike's Animal House. All of my critters are very healthy!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE STAFF!!!!! They are very nice and knowledgeable.
I walked in to look at the animals and was appalled. The place reeked of animal smells, and the fish aquariums were dirty. The cages of most of the animals looked like they needed a good cleaning. I realize that animals can leave messes. This is normal. The conditions in this place are not normal. I was very unhappy and sad for the animals.
Pretty good. The prices were ok. A lot of fish tanks, and dog advice. They have birds, which are cool to visit, especially the parrot. Prices are comparable to Walmart. Check here first. If not satisfied, talk to the people that run the place . . . You won't be missing Walmart if you do.
Mike's Animal House is an awesome place!! Love the people there. They are very helpful and knowledgeable and if they don't know something they will try to find out the answer for you. They always have a nice selection of animals. Keep up they great work!!
Visited to buy live feed. Quality fine, but they charge about five times more than chain stores for mealworms and superworms, and literally 10 times more for dubia roaches. Dubia roaches come in small size for $1.50 each! I've been buying them online for $11.00 for 50 of the same size. Recently I purchased 100 for $12.00 so unfortunately I couldn't afford some live Dubias to feed my reptile until the online shipment came. They also had a pricing bracket for their reptiles I found odd, where they're charging a lot more for older bigger reptiles. This seems backward to me, since bonding time early in their life is so crucial to the personality development. I bought 3 dozen superworms, because the roaches were completely unaffordable when it would take 10 or more to feed my bearded dragon one time. I had not worked with superworms before, and by the time I got to the car they had chewed through the plastic bag In several places and getting them home was a bit of a nightmare as that wasn't my last stop and it was too cold to leave them in the car. I will only go back in cases of emergency and I will be taking a feed carrier with me.
Good service from helpful people. They have a good selection of bird foods and other bird items. Their animals appear to be well cared for and prices are reasonable.
