Established in 1926, Milam Funeral and Cremation Services has seen an ever-changing industry and while striving to provide the widest range of options for our families. Our caring staff of owners, father Mickey and daughter Ashley Milam, licensed funeral directors, service counselors, and associates welcome any questions. We understand the difficult time after the death of a loved one. We help our families file for benefits with life insurance companies, veteran's survivor benefits, as well as state, county, or city retirement. We offer special consideration for service personnel and first-responders as well as green burial options. We have two locations: Gainesville & Newberry. Milam has been our families funeral service choice for generations. Their care and willingness to do everything to they can to make the loss of a loved easier on the family, before and long after the actual event, is above and beyond expectations.
My Grandparents, Parents a Great Uncle and cousin were all buried through Milam. Can't say enough good things about the caring and compassion of this family business. Every little detail was perfect from consultation to burial. Thank you Ashley and the whole staff at Milam for being the best at what you do, it cannot be an easy job.
I don’t even know where to begin. My brother was murdered in Oregon, I was numb and in shock, trying to navigate getting his remains from the Coroner’s Office in Oregon back to Florida, I didn’t know where to begin. A coworker recommended Milam Funeral and Cremation to me and one phone call is all it took. They took care of EVERYTHING, literally everything. They helped us arrange my brothers internment at the National Cemetery and they came to the service, not having to as that part is done by the Department of Defense. They were the comfort and guidance I needed at that very moment and I never had to worry. The care and compassion they showed me and my family went above and beyond. Ashley, the entire family were wonderful and staff to work with and I am so thankful for them. I would highly recommend Milan to anyone during their time of grief.
Milam truly represents the best of the best of funeral homes in North Central Florida. They are truly hometown heroes and always go the extra mile regardless of who you are, how much money you have or don’t have. The Milam family helped my family immensely when my step-father passed. They were so kind, caring, patient and gentle. They took the time to listen to our wishes and take care of everything for us. We are a small family and had a small private ceremony but Ashley and Mickey made it perfect for us. They made such a sad time more bearable with their compassion.

This is a shout out to one of our best friends and one-of-a-kind officiant, Ashley Milam, for doing an exceptional job marrying us last weekend. My wife Arlene and I have known Ashley for several years. My mother passed away in December of 2019 and it was such a relief for me to know I could count on Ashley to take care of her in her final journey and take care us during that very difficult transition. Ashley was a steadfast friend to me, a comfort to my children who were devastated by the loss, and the kindest of souls to the rest of my family and friends. Her compassion and understanding were heartfelt and deeply needed by us during that time. Ashley knew my mother and she wanted to celebrate her life. At the service, she made sure to let everyone know what a happy, fun, loving woman my mother was, she spoke about her as if she were her own mother. Ashley told us that my mother reminded her of her own, and that they would get along great and party together in Heaven, that made me chuckle. That is Ashley’s way, to make everyone feel special and to show how she understands and identifies with what people are going through. She took care of us like family! Last weekend, on a much happier occasion, Arlene and I got married, and of course, it was Ashley who officiated our wedding ceremony. When we asked her months ago to marry us, Ashley could not have been more excited, and we were very glad because we did not want anyone else. We knew Ashley would make our day special just by being there next to us helping us say our vows. Ashley has a way of reaching out to touch people’s hearts which is unique, engaging, and genuine. She can make people laugh and make them cry with just a couple of words. Her unrehearsed comments are refreshing, and inspire confidence. We were so happy but also a little nervous, but knowing Ashley was there, we felt calm because no matter what, we knew she had our back. For Arlene and I it was personal because Ashley is like a sister to us, but this would have been no different if she had not known the couple as Ashley has a way to make people feel special from the moment they meet her. Ashley was born with many gifts, but the gift of caring, giving and loving are her strongest ones. She gives you all of her heart during your most important life events and she is there for you lending you her unwavering hand and support. If you are ever looking for someone to officiate a meaningful transition in your life, look no further, Ashley Milam is who you want.
Milam staff took care of me and my father like family. Just one call and Rebecca handled everything just the way I needed her to after my Dad passed. Taking time to know him and his wishes. I am so thankful that Milam was my father's choice when he made his arrangements.
