We visited New Year's Eve to hear Jimmy play piano and see the new renovations. I was in my comfort zone--the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I ordered the holiday special which was a carrot soup, filet, and dessert and, as we always do at Italian restaurants, also ordered and extra cheese pizza for my husband and son who are not at all fancy eaters. My husband wanted to know why butter wasn't served with the bread. I asked him to please be quiet and just try the lovely dip they brought, which he grudgingly did and liked. I was so happy to have one last successful meal before the new year and can't say enough about how refreshing it was to dine at an establishment who "gets it." From the cilantro leaves in the carrot soup, to the butter-tenderness of the filet or the creative use of blue cheese in ravioli, the entire concept of the meal and execution was fabulous. I'm very happy to know that there is a restaurant close by where both my husband, child, and I can get a meal we all love!
Shoutout to Milano's Enoteca & Italian Ristaurante in Rivermont area. We’ve been here many times, and I was finally able to snap some pics before we ate everything. First is the burrata appetizer. My words to my husband: “I’m mad I haven’t had this sooner”. It was so fresh, and so wonderful! Next were the fried oysters. Served with a sauce but didn’t need it. So light, and perfectly cooked. Also easily 9-10 large oysters, excellent portions. Entree was the homemade rigatoni with Italian sausage in a Sicilian sauce. Ah-mah-zing. Seriously one of the best pasta dishes we’ve had in LYH. We split the entree. Dessert was an upside down cheesecake with a strawberry basil jam. So light and fresh. Perfect ending. Highly recommend! 10/10
We had the most delicious dinner a couple of nights ago. We started off with a lemon martini and an IPA beer, followed by the most yummy smoked salmon cake with remoulade sauce and topped with fennel. Was so so good, and a new item on their menu. Then we both had the halibut special that came in this thick broth with clams, potatoes, olives and capers. Was so good we were scraping our bowls. We decide to take dessert home - peach bread pudding with ice cream. This is the best bread pudding I have ever had. They even packaged the ice cream separate for us. And the staff - Nelly makes incredible drinks and helps manage a very busy bar area, smiling all the time. Daniel Hill was our waiter and is always so attentive, efficient, and pleasant to talk to. And a big shout out to Chef Jason Arbusto and his staff for always making our night out memorable.
This restaurant has come a long way, but suffers from over-salted and sugared food usually a sign of a cook or chef who smokes cigarettes, US Foods frozen ingredients like the ravioli the exact ravioli is a fraction of the price at the new US foods store y’all, and dishes with too many ingredients! The Pizza is fine, but the piling on of too many different ingredients makes them seem like a high frat boy was cooking. More is not always better! This was also the issue with the salads. Please, for the sake of baby Jesus, do not call a salad a Caesar if it does not resemble one! It came on wilted lettuce, covered in a CREAMY dressing, and …. wait for it… almonds. Please do us all a solid and name the salad something else like limp creamy nutty greens, but respect the Caesar! That wasn’t even a cousin to it! Also, why on earth do they offer a classic like the wedge salad and put sweet Thai chili sauce on it! See image Blue cheese and sweet Thai chili sauce! That’s a hard pass unless you’ve just smoked a blunt and threw together random stuff in your fridge to see if you could make your little brother eat it for a dollar. We ordered one and the entire table couldn’t eat it. The frozen sidewinders same ones you get at roadside gas stations, mixed in with the calamari are fine, I guess, but why do that except to make profit of serving a tiny portion of squid. At least hand cut a fresh potato! There isn’t a restaurant in this town that actually makes all of their food. It’s depressing! Drinks are great, service is spectacular, ambiance is beautiful but my god lay off the cigarettes and weed and the food would improve! On a high note, the Brussel sprouts are awesome!
Long time customer of Milano's this being my first visit to the New 2.0 version and must say it was wonderful. The interior is bright, open and well lit. Our server Daniel was awesome. Very personable and knowledgeable of available drinks and menu items. Our dishes were fresh and tasted great. Would like to see a few Mediterranean dishes added to the menu otherwise great choices. Excellent cuisine.
Milano’s was recommended to us by friends in our hometown who knew we were traveling near Lynchburg. When we arrived, we were treated to wonderful hospitality with a fun interior vibe. The hostesses are friendly and helpful, and our server was a delight and knew the entire menu plus the impressive specials. Our meals were spectacular — Chicken Romano and a Surf and Turf — and presented beautifully. A table side visit by Chef Jason set off a lovely experience. Highly recommended!
I had some pasta that was so tasty! I even reheated some the next day and could smell the garlic as if it was cooking fresh. It was just as good the next day. The chunks of chicken were cut very nice for presentation but nice size to taste. Nice job
I've been here only twice now, each time being for my work Christmas dinner. It is really nice being in their private room for our event. The room is beautiful decorated and intimate. The ladies who waited on us were fantastic, Sam especially was such an amazing server. Very gracious, attentive and courtesy. I really did not get to eat alot due to feeling a little ill after some fried appetizers I should've known better, I do not eat fried foods and it always makes me feel bad after I do--they were delicious when I ate them though lol but the plates that came out looked delicious and beautifully plated. My coworkers seemed to enjoy their food. We'll be back next time!
My family and I ate her Friday night and had a wonderful time. The shrimp special was outstanding and came out exactly as described. The shrimp pesto bucatini was also really good. Wendy was our server and gave us excellent service as always!
We just ordered 2 Pizzas for Take Out. Tuscan Meat Lovers & Margarita. OMG… they both were the BEST PIZZAS I have ever had. EPIC in fact. We have been customers for years and these were Top Level Greatness. If I could post more then the 5 Stars, I would post 10. Do yourself a favor and either go there or order Take Out.
