Milford Ice Pavilion is a 1,000-seat skating rink in Milford, Connecticut. It is home to the Milford Indians co-op high school team, Notre Dame High School Lancers, and Sacred Heart University Pioneers men's ice hockey team. The building opened in 1975 and was renovated in 1985. It also serves several local hockey high school and club level teams. It has been the home of the Sacred Heart hockey program since its inception in 1993. For the past ten years the building has come to be known as "The House that Marty Built" after the Connecticut Hockey Coach Mr. Marty Roos.High school coach Marty Roos has more wins then anyone in Connecticut history. His most recent championship came in 2006 when his Notre Dame Lancers (Fairfield, CT) defeated Hamden at Yale University. The team was led by Captains Ryan Tarby, Jimmy Tierney, and Reade Morman. Greg Ziko and Hubert Morin also played pivotal roles in the championship run.Its sister facility is the Northford Ice Pavilion in North Branford, Connecticut.

Very basic ice rink with a low ceiling. Not cold enough so the ice is soft. Stands are old and dirty.
I do not recommend Milford Ice Arena. In my experience: Stands are dirty, lights are only partially on during Freestyle, clock is 5 minutes too fast. I did not have a good experience with their staff. Owned by Blackbear Sports Group - whose reviews and ratings are also available to be viewed on Google.
We were there for a birthday party. We were able to get one of those tools to help our daughter learn to skate. She gained so much confidence in the one hour of skating. They also had someone teaching the kids to skate. The party room was nice and out of the way. It was a great place to relax. Will definitely book a party there for my daughter.
Love skating at Milford Ice Pavilion, easy to rent skates. Cute little snack shop. Bundle up!
So much fun and lots of places to chill when you're feet get tired. Nice folks. Kool patrons. Not too expensive.
Always had a soft spot for this place. It's friendly and the open skate times/rates are reasonable. I used to take lessons here for figure skating and the staff was always nice. Kids I went to elementary school with were on the local hockey team and this was their home rink. They loved it. Been to several birthday parties here over the years including my own. The food is always hit or miss, but what do you expect. You can't go wrong with the pretzels or candy though.
I love the people that work here. The coaches are wonderful with the kids and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. I was also pleasantly surprised by how affordable the kids programs are. The free skate is also super fun - though I would recommend if you plan to go regularly to invest in your own skates easily purchased at Whitie Benson's in West Haven.
While it's not a modern facility, it's a family run business that helps promote and support youth skating and hockey. They are the most affordable option around, and as a hockey parent, that fact is greatly appreciated. Great place for a birthday party and public skate sessions are very affordable for the entire family.
The best part of being involved in a youth hockey program are the families, coaches and the venue. The rink is immaculately maintained and very well managed.
Open skate is very inexpensive and they do a decent job of maintaining the ice. Their skating lessons can be disorganized, but they still get results with their methods. We've been happy with the people and the facility and especially the chicken nuggets at the food counter.
