The Mill City Park area nearest the old Kidder Lumber/Heberts Foundry has gone through an incredible transformation. For decades, the area in the back of the car wash was considered by many as the "forbidden zone." It was occupied by the homeless, addicts and alcoholics. Moreover, the area was littered with trash and remnants of the mills and factories that once thrived there on banks of the Winnipesaukee River. Not anymore, mind you! It's beautiful! The trash is gone, the homeless camps are gone, and the trails have been cleared of underbrush. You can now bike, hike, or fish without worries. Kudos to Marty Parichand and the volunteers who dedicate their time and energy into making this park possible. Great job!
This place is awesome.. you can pretty much sit anywhere and do what you want. ‍ watch thr kayaker, be a kayaker, swimmer,or boogie boarder...or, just sit by the water .. Restrooms: Clean, acceptable, and usable. Dog-friendliness: I have met many a doggos here ...
The only white-water park in New England. Permanent wave, very easy access with parking behind Trestle View Park, which has seasonal restrooms. Inviting amphitheater facing the river. Mill City Park has also a large piece if land next to the river that is awaiting further development as a campground in the location of a demolished in 1935 former paper mill, now woods. Seasonal porta potties, primitive camping allowed for small fee. Currently no playground or prepared picnic area. Community tasting garden. Picturesque location right next to downtown Franklin, the smallest city in New Hampshire.
Very nice enjoyed all the new trails with my daughter and our dog Picnic area: Everyone that I met have been cool with the dog need more places that are dog friendly because they r family too and we all need to have fun and get out and enjoy some fresh air and go for a walk.
I didn't get to Venture far out here yet but from the Parking lot it looks very intriguing and like a perfect place for some Creative Inspiration
Nice walk, beautiful river views and sounds. Cool graffiti on old brick structures. Restrooms: Port-a-potty seems to be taken care of Dog-friendliness: Trails good for walking dogs
Fantastic place to cool off on a hot day! Go across central street and bring a life jacket and a boogie board.
Great place to walk your dog
