This place is so beautiful. In the fall time, the beautiful trees lay their leaves all over the ground, making for a beautiful sight to walk into the building. In the winter time, if the snow falls, the ground looks amazing and the library building looks very beautiful. In the spring, the flowers make for a very pleasant sight and the summer time is the most calming time ever. The library is not in a very loud place and therefore it is quite nice to be there.
Love the library, but as they were closing, one librarian said as I was already walking out that I could use the wifi outside of the library. I told her I was just stopping because my husband was trying to call and I kept missing it. She then said, the door is open so you're good to leave. I responded with, I'm aware. I'm already walking out. The whole thing was unnecessary. In all for people getting off on time. I know I like to get off in time, but I was already leaving with noproblem. It was really annoying.
Disappointingly, there are not many restrictions on noise and conversation. The sound of the fans can function as white noise and help with concentration to a certain extent at least during the summer, but the conversations people were having were quite distracting. This may be a good place to go to for reading with children, but if you want to get work done, bring headphones or come at a less busy time of day.
I have noticed WA libraries are pretty small compared to what I am used to. Clean though.
Very unfortunate that the staff takes zero action toward people who come into the library to have 20-30 minute, loud phone calls. Why do they allow it? It would take 5 seconds to politely ask patrons to hold phone calls outside so that everyone is this small library isn't subjected to loud and lengthy disruptive conversations while attempting to work quietly.
This library is small but It does have everything you up need, not alot of computers, wish they had a lower limit on minutes, they have 120 minutes and it seems excessive, since I had maybe a 20 minute job with only one computer open, which I was thankful but if there wasn't...who knows how long one would have to wait but can be up to 2 hours... I was able to print, sign docs and then save on a thumb stick they provide and then send via email with loading the thumb drive on the computer. I didn't get much pictures.
I needed to print a few high priority documents, but the library had closed early due to an incoming snow storm. Luckily, I caught Darlene, the manager, on her way out. I had explained to her that I had some urgent documents that I needed to print. Most people would have proceeded to cold-heartedly leave, but Darlene being the sweetheart that she is, greeted me with a warm smile, and welcomed me in to the library. All of the computers were off and the system was turned off, but she then proceeded to find a solution for me by letting me use her personal office computer to print. Darlene went out of her way, above and beyond, to help me out, and I am very certain that she serves the community with her self-less good deeds on a daily basis. I wanted to make it a priority for me to make sure that this good deed didn't go unnoticed, and that I am very greatful. The world needs more people like Darlene! I hope she reads this, gets a big hug and large raise! Thank you! Happy holidays!
I stopped by the library today for printing needs. My first experience was nice. I emailed the library the document, they were kind and quickly printed for me. I had another document to print so I came back. Yet my second experience was not great. I emailed my document yet the library staff claimed to have not received it. It was a busy day and the gal out front who was assisting was not patient nor kind. I understand we have to deal with things differently bc of the pandemic, it just wasn't a good experience. I stopped at fed ex and emailed them my document, they received and printed it for me. I was in and out in less then five minutes unless my second visit to the library that took a long time outdoors in the cold stormy weather.
I am constantly using the library for 7 years and first time I was embarrassed today while picking up my holds: I called as usual before picking up and usually my last name and ID were enough to pick up. Today I spent about 10min on the phone with a lady with a very hard acsent, she started to ask me many questions about my identity and was not polite at all, I felt even humiliated: I was giving all my personal info to the people around the entrance. I am glad she didn't ask for my SSN She told me it's a policy when I don't have my card with me but why to do it if I have ID and it was all these past years enough. Other people was coming and picking up stuff with just IDs... So I spent today about 20min for my pickup, my 5 big books were not even bagged Please train your employees to be more polite and reasonable.
Chef Alfred Lewis here!!! I liked the new look on the library. I had tons of questions and received tons of assistance and answers from the staff. One woman in particular helped greatly. Her accent sounded from India and her name started with an A. Thanks Miss A for All your help. Tell your friends!!!
