Great food, great service! This place is a classic small-town diner. We came for lunch and had the smash burgers - they were delicious! Looking forward to coming back for breakfast. Our server was good-natured, friendly, and competent. I liked that the menus were tailored to a short list of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some small restaurants try to put everything but the kitchen sink on their menu, which is overwhelming and usually means there’s no “specialty.” By contrast, I liked that this place had a few tried and true, all-star menu items that the locals enjoy. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is for ambiance. The decor is split between log cabin and vintage retro, but I think they are still figuring out their image. Keep up the great work! So glad Owen County has this little family-owned gem!
Cute little diner right up the road from The Retreat at Hickory Hills. Try the pickle fries with the awesome sauce, delish! Very friendly service and the diner is attached to the convenience store and gas station so you can grab camping food/essentials if you forgot to bring something to Hickory Hills.
Asked for an English muffin toasted brown. Got one that had been drowned in butter and fried on a grill. Sent it back. The 2nd one was barely toasted. The 3rd one came with rude comments, and it was burned. Learn your job. It's not rocket science.
Fast, Friendly, and Fresh! Definitely looks like they've been updating this place compared to prior pictures. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful with picking out food. The food was fresh, and you could tell everything was prepared there and not frozen. It's possible they're still updating and finding their aesthetic as a diner. Food was not overpriced but not five star. Heads up with tipping on card. The cashier will ask you to announce your tip, which can be uncomfortable. We'll definitely be back to try their breakfast which ends at 11am on weekends!
We were leaving McCormick Creek and needed a place to stop for breakfast. Came across Millgrove. The minute we walked in we were greeted by the staff. There were 5 of us and we all ordered something different. All of us were quite satisfied with what we ordered. We are putting it on our list for next year when we visit again.
It's a cute little country convenient store that offers things not found at most gas stations; i.e.... fishing weights, local craft sales, and they even sell CBD products. There's also a quaint, 'mom&pop', restaurant/diner that has wonderful services, great food, and a place to see the town regulars that have the best stories and always wear smiles that are contagious. The main reason this place is so great!
Good pulled pork, generous portions, as well as friendly and attendant wait staff.
Great place to eat with good ol American gas. Keep up good work.
Great food, great service. I'll definitely be back
Words cannot express my joy about the food here in it’s current state. Ordered takeout on a whim returning home from a work visit and I’ve been returning ever since I live ~40min away. Please don’t change your ways!
