New American Cuisine
Milo’s is an independent restaurant owned by Jane Anderson and Obdulio Escobar, who also owned Escobar’s, a Latin restaurant, in downtown Champaign. Milo’s is named after Milo Sollmer, our dear friend and first manager of the Belmont Kitchen in Washington, D.C.
We moved from Washington D.C. in 1997 to be closer to family and first opened Milo’s at Lincoln Square in downtown Urbana. We moved to our current location in August 2008.
We strive to maintain the highest quality product and support local businesses such as Blue Moon Farm, Pekara Bakehouse, Columbia Street Roastery and Kilgus Farmstead.
Our artwork throughout the restaurant is painted by local artist and long time resident, Lloyd White. All of the paintings are for sale. Ask your server for details.
We support local charities such as the Prairie Center, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), WILL, Eastern Illinois Food Bank and international charities such as Wuqu’ Kawoq by having fund-raisers and wine dinners. Visit our web-site or face book page for upcoming events.
