Went for Father's Day and everything was delicious, It wasn't busy at all at the time my family went! Quick and friendly service! I would definitely come again!Food: 5/5
This was my first visit to a Mimi's Cafe. I had dinner here with my wife. It was not too busy when we arrived around 6:30pm with three groups ahead of us in the waiting area but we were all seated within 10 minutes. I absolutely loved the decor and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. I chose the 3 course meal with a french onion soup, baked brie appetizer, jambalaya on long grain rice and bread pudding for dessert. My wife had the roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The Jambalaya was the best I've had in a few years and the bread pudding was warm and so delicious, and the portion large enough that my wife and I were able to share it together which made it even more special. The waitress was very attentive and helpful and brought us several refills for our drinks. Our total for all of this was around $60. I can't wait to come back again and try some of the other menu items. If you love delicious food and amazing service in a beautiful setting, this place is for you.
Loved this place! Omg the muffin was to die for! I want more. I will def stop by whenever in the area again. Service was amazing.
4-16-23. Great service, lots of coffee . Food and prices ok . Just a place to meet with friends on a quiet Sunday morning . Doesn’t look like a French Bistro as in the old Days , just very plain.
This was a complete let down. I had extremely high hopes for this location, ans unfortunately it did not measure up. The service was lack luster, but pleasant. I ordered a French Pot Roast that was more like a lacking Salisbury Steak. The sauce was thick, and viscose. The meat was sub par and not where near a pot roast. The roasted turkey turkey meal also fell flat. The turkey was extremely dry, stuffing was overly salted, and au gratin tasked like it had been sitting in a warmer all day. The positive note was the ambiance, and the mimosas. Like many people have mentioned the only reason to come here are for breakfast, pastries, and drinks. For anything else you might want to go elsewhere.
Visited on a Saturday early morning and the restaurant was very quiet. No problem seating our party of 4. Excellent service. A credit to this restaurant. The food was good standard and I particularly enjoyed my breakfast Classic Benedict. Good value pricing too and the surroundings were nice.Food: 5/5
Disappointing. Ridiculous. Lost my appetite. I’m not one to waste food but if you look at the pictures, there is my proof that the food was already a waste. Microwaved food looks more appetizing than this. We told our waitress that we wouldn’t eat it and we want the bill. One would think that basic common courtesy is to remove the price of the meals not eaten, but instead we were charged for them. I didn’t want them to think that we wanted it for free, so we paid. The receipt comes with a number to call, to complain, but the number doesn’t work. We paid and left disgusted. I bet this place is going to close down soon if they don’t hire professionals to cook. I made the mistake of reading reviews after my visit. Don’t make the same mistake I made! Read the reviews and just keep driving. This is not worth your time and money.
I love coming here, only wish it would get an update on the dishes they offered. Lately seems like dishes can be a little blan. Service is always great! Restrooms can definitely use a little TLC.Food: 4/5
Ms. Darlene is amazing waitress. She goes beyond being a role. By providing great service and friendly conservation. When I asked her surprise me with a meal. She did and the meals so delicious. The food was delicious and the environment was welcoming.Food: 5/5
Finally tried Mimis after living in Downey for 16 years, and I was not disappointed. We decided to go around 2 pm it was perfect not too crowded. Service was wonderful very friendly. Food was so good, tried mimosas and they were good. We tried the 3 course meal for 29 dollars and did not disappoint. I had the corn chowder, Parma chicken and lava cake and it was so good. Clean friendly and delicious I highly recommend. Next we want to try breakfast
