My name is Mindi, I am a wife, and a mother of four. I am also a Reiki Master/Teacher. My focus is assisting those who would like a holistic approach to maintaining overall good health. My specialty is working with those who suffer from trauma, and also those who care for/support them.
If you would have asked me years ago if this was a path I envisioned for myself, I would have said no. But, as you know, our life's journey's often take us in the most interesting, beautiful directions. Things I have learned: the most beautiful experiences in life come most often after the darkest storms. This is true for me, as I'm sure it is for you. I also have learned that whether you are in the middle of a beautiful experience or feeling that you are in the center of a pounding storm, we all do better when we are connected. To ourselves, to others, and to something greater than we are.
That, essentially, defines energy work and my journey with it. Now, I say this knowing that depending on who you talk to, everyone may have a slightly different take on what energy work is and what it does. So, this is just mine.
For me, Reiki is a form of energy work, and the modality I most often use, though I know others. Energy work is simply a tool that can be used to clear or balance energy. It is not a religion, or a replacement for whatever spiritual practices you have in your life. It is simply a tool that can be used to bring about greater balance.
In life, we all have our ups and downs. Days when we feel happy and light and others that feel difficult and heavy. We encounter all kinds of energy as we go out and about. Don't believe me? Stop for a minute and think about what you are currently listening to....if there is music playing, is it presenting a positive, uplifting message? Are your coworkers talking about things that make you feel better about yourself and the world? What about the latest news article you read? Did it lift your spirit?
Energy work can be part of a holistic approach to health. It can help to balance and clear negative energy, while making room and encouraging the positive energy we all want. It can promote healing. By staying balanced in this way, we are more able to connect: with ourselves,and with others. We are better able to give and receive love.
So, today, go out and be the positive that our world so desperately needs. If we all brighten the little part of the world we live in, just imagine the power and light it will bring to us all!
