This company sponsors my Grandsons E-Sports High school Team I am not aVideo game player at all. The staff are Really Friendly and helpful. You get there early to fill out the forms to sign in. All of the instructions are Easy to Follow. You can go with groups. Plenty of parking. You schedule the play time online
A beautifully fun experience one which will have you wishing for a season pass. The customer service was amazing and even felt overstaffed. From the first moment we walk through the door we were greeted with smiles and welcoming. We played on the many game consoles while we waited for our reservation. Virtual reality is the future and these guys are well on stairway to showing the world the possibilities. I'm surprised at how good of a workout actually got while in vr. My blood was pumping my muscles straing as I felt I was really in the scenario. For those that wear glasses each VR headset eye port has a slider to dial in 20 / 20 My only con would be I wish they had more locations. Being from Florida I can only come when in Boston. I highly recommend this for any one who likes video games.
Wow! What a great team-event my international group had. Extremely well organized and accommodating. We arrived via bus and were in game in less than 15 minutes. 3/4 of our folks had never used VR and LOVED it! Expect more business from my greater corporation. The word will be spread. Till next time!
Nestled in the back of a small shopping plaza, MindTrek Woburn is something you don't want to miss. Upon entering the facility you can see they take the highest care maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment, lockers and waiting area. While this typically seems like something of little importance to the average gamer I assure you it should not be! You will be speed walking, sweating, and practically shouting at your teammates to save you in the game play. So the cleaner the better. Now back to the game play: The first time I went I played Zombie Outbreak. As your trusted digital companion let me just tell you it is extremely LACKLUSTER. Don't waste your money! Our first experience was overwhelmed with technical difficulties. Everything from the headsets not working to rebooting the system 3 times. Despite this, MindTrek Woburn did right by us and invited us back at not cost. Everything was PERFECT. Singularity was LIFE CHANGING and at times I forgot it was a game. It encouraged friendly communication, strategy, and inspired amusement from my entire team. Lastly, I hope you shoot better than I! I died 20 times.
Mindtrek was a total blast! A group of 15 of us went and spent 90 min playing. The whole setup is very professional and the games themselves are a blast! We did 2 different ones that were us fighting zombies. We had to break into 2 teams that played separately as you can only have 8 in a match. The motion tracking was very accurate and it felt like being in an actual zombie attack. The feeling you get when you're ripping into zombies with machine guns while trying to cover your team so you can escape was really cool, felt like being in a movie. I didn't get dizzy or nauseous at all, and the only weird feeling was at the end once you take off the mask you have a min or two of feeling like you just got off a treadmill. It was pretty hot, but they gave us bottles of water and the lobby was nice and cool. All in all a fantastic experience that was easy to learn and a blast with friends!
Short story. Tons of fun, ability to move about freely, a bit pricey, a little bit of lagnot sickening lag though. We played ZombieX2 with 6 players. Try it out even if you don't play video games. VR is for everyone! Detailed review: I have a slight obsession with VR. I've tried so meant different headsets. DK2, Vive, Rift, PSVR, Pimax4K, Windows Mixed, Reality, and even mobile sets like GearVR, Cardboard, and Daydream. This VR experience was like no other. The ability to freely walk around wirelessly was what really sealed the deal. I tried to get some footage of people playing, and for the most part they were relatively still. I didn't get it... I have a room scale setup myself, but even the boundaries of my office hamper the experience. With MindTrek, you can move about the ENTIRE map without having to watch out for walls. Other players are visible so you don't need to worry about bumping into anyone. When you get close, there is a warning letting you know where they are. There are two platforms and a large square area at the bottom. Along with elevators to go up and down. The entire map is able to be traversed. There are boundaries where the zombies come at you, but you don't want to go there anyway, so it's fine. Being able to hold your rifle in your hand and have it mapped in VR was SUPER. COOL! Seeing your friends in VR around you was also super cool! 4 stars... Why? Well, the framerate COULD be better. It's a big thing to ask for since the headsets, rifle, and backpack are all wireless. But there was some lag in game. It sort of breaks immersion, but not as much as you'd think. Also, I get that this is expensive hardware, and the rent on the place probably isn't cheap... But MindTrek IS expensive. We went on a Groupon so the price wasn't too bad. I'd recommend pulling together a group of 6-8 and doing that. $50 for 2 rounds of play is steep. One last thing, the player proximity warning is a bit much. I can totally see why they NEED to do it. They don't want people falling over or slamming into each other with expensive gear on. But, it is IN YOUR FACE and if two people are up on a platform it's almost impossible to NOT have it up there. I would prefer it to be slightly lower, maybe blink so it gets your attention. Or even some transparency on it would be nice. But the majority of people don't really have VR experience, so I can't really dock them too much for it. We also played with 6. If 8 were in the map, I could see crowding being a bigger issue... But I'm not too sure. All in all, I do want to go back again soon. This place is super cool and the people are wicked friendly. Highly recommend trying it out. Even non-gamers will have fun.
Can it be improved-off course but I would do it again as it was fun. The game aspect is a lot of fun, and people freak out when zombies or aliens come out of nowhere. You will lose track of time as you are focusing on your own game play, and be very careful of all the instructions or you will hit one of your friends or wall. LoL!
This place is awesome!! We had so much fun with a group of six. We will definitely be coming back!!
