They need to create a way people can purchase a metrocard without having to purchase a train ticket. That would make life so much easier for people who need to purchase a metrocard to just get on a bus from the Mineola Bus Terminal, which is right next to the train station itself.
For weekend parking, this place is great. It is about a 7 minute walk to Winthrop hospital. Rates are very reasonable. Five dollars for 20 hours. You have to pay ahead so you have to track down a pay station. Cash is accepted. I would imagine credit cards are accepted, too.
Make sure you're there by 8:10am Mon-Thurs or you'll never get a spot. Fridays are a little later, but 8:30 is about as late as it gets. The Summer is a different story, when its still available around 9am.
I got a 15 dollar ticket for not parking head in. Only place it is listed is on the bottom of a sign with 10 things listed as you enter.Not sure what the reasoning is as there are no monthly stickers or tickets on dashboard to look for. just a money grab
