I just moved to Corpus Christi and was looking for a new barber shop. I was glad when I found Mingos because Sharon does a great job with my hair. She does a really good low razor fade for me and I will keep on going back to her and I’ve gone to her 3X already since I’ve moved here. Glad I found a home barber shop in my new city.
This is the only place I'll take my 8 yr old son, Sharon does an AMAZING job every time, she goes above & beyond, & she's by far the best in town, we've been lucky to experience. Highly Recommend! *****
Drove past for years but now will be my go to barber shop
I try to be positive in life but my negative experience at this place needs to be a warning to others. I recently went with my wife to Mingo's for my first and last haircut. The door was wide open and that kind of alerted me something was up. My first impression in walking in was, "what a dump", but I was desperate for haircut. The woman who was there was short and obese and that will mean something further on. She informed me she had been cutting hair there for 27 years but after my experience i do not see how. She seated me in smallest barber chair I have ever been in which put her head slightly higher than mine with her mouth almost in line with my ear. A person out of my line of sight said something to her and she started yelling back to him almost directly in mt ear. This went on for almost a minute as if I wasn't even there. I tried to duck and hoped she would get the hint, but no such luck. Then the haircut started. Her obese body was overflowing pushing against mine the entire time. When I tried to pull away she moved in closer. I just dealt with it. She pushed the electric shears back and forth against my neck like she was mowing grass causing a neck burn. When it was time to shave my neck for some reason she started shaving around my ears and nick me good. When I got out of the chair I felt blood ruining down my ear and my wife saw it and started cleaning it up. At no time did this woman apologize or acknowledge cutting me. I am praying that was a clean sanitized blade that cut me I can tell you, but after seeing that place not hopeful. Go at your own risk you have been warned.
Sharon is the best! She has been cutting my hair for 5 years now. One of the few who will also help keep my unruly beard tamed. Highly recommend.
This place is fine for a haircut, do not get a shave unless you bring your own first aid kit and possibly a few units of blood, I repeat, do NOT GET A SHAVE! Plus side she didn't charge for the shave, however I would have much preferred her to have warned me of her profound lack of ability in that regard. I should have bailed after the first cut, and how shaky the tiny chair was, but she assured me her hand had just "slipped" I should have trusted the other review about cuts, mine was a lot worse than he described, good luck if you give it a run, she has the little red first aid kit with one less band aid in it waiting for you. Oh and cash or check only, I'll be going back tomorrow to pay for my haircut, all I had was plastic. On second thought, I think I'll just mail a check. Next time I'll just try a dog groomer, any good ones in The Bluff?
It's a barber shop once knew owner not sure if still owns but clean business in a small shopping center.
How they're in business and don't take debit cards is beyond me. They can't break a $50 either. I had to go next door to get change.
Very consistent. Probably the only Barber shop that can comprehend what a low fade is. Would definitely recommend this place
