After tolerating BPH for several years trying to manage my condition with medication, I found Dr. Kaye through a referral. My first appointment with Dr. Kaye, he spent about 30 minutes with me discussing BPH, the pathophysiology of the condition and the various surgical treatment options. I opted for the Greenlight Laser treatment procedure. I had the surgery done on 7/28/22 with excellent life changing results. I found Dr. Kaye and his entire staff to be congenial and very caring. Great experience !
One of the most rudest doctors I ever worked with. He will talk you in circles and doesn’t care about you as a patient. His front office staff is horrible. They charged me over $200 when I told them I had already met my deductible. Dr Kaye needs to lose his license. I reported him to the AZ health board.
He’s an excellent doctor and was very understanding to my situation. I am getting married on April 23rd. Had a 13mm stone. Extremely painful. He Performed Lithotripsy and had a stent put in March 30th. Was really struggling with pain and discomfort due to stone and stent. Called on April 7th due to the pain, and they moved my follow up appointment to the next day. Turns out I needed another lithotripsy. Knowing my wedding date was fast approaching, he performed the procedure just a few days after my April 8th appt! The stone was blasted and I’m passing them in grainy pieces so far. I am so thankful for Dr Kaye and his staff and am feeling myself again, just in time for the wedding. Couple of things: Dr Kaye is all business. You’re not going to get a 30 minute pow wow session. He’s going to tell you like it is and give his recommendation, and move on. He moves fast. I like his approach. His office is extremely busy. Patients come and go all the time, I can see why. I found his staff to be wonderful, as well. Especially Monique.
Look at all the one star reviews. My sentiment exactly. Didnt ask you anything and didnt want to be asked one question. Yes he's one of "those". Appts are no more than 3 to 5 min. My doc recommended someone else but on a whim stopped in here. Wish I didn't.
I have been very pleased with Dr. Kaye and his office staff. He is very busy and has many patients when I’ve been there which attests to the trust his patients have in his expertise. He is to the point and straight forward which might offend some, but overall he is thorough and extremely knowledgeable. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Dr. Kaye did not want to discuss my kidney stone issue. When I tried to explain how my pain was he said are you in significant pain now, yes or no. The next question was do you want me to remove it yes or no. Worst experience with medical communication ever.
Front office staff pleasant but looked terrorized which is the only reason it gets more than 1 star. Dr was awful, gruff, no interest in my pain or diagnosis. No vital signs were taken, no exam was done. Went off on some tangent about buying a percussive device to pound on my back despite the possibility of a kidney stone. In a town with so many medical options, my advice is to find a different urologist and not waste your time with this one.
Dr Kaye is an excellent doctor and in many ways. He is both very knowledgeable and ethical. When I presented him with my issue, not only did he tell me not to have him do what it is that I was referred to him to have done, but he found me a doctor that could do the more appropriate less invasive procedure, thereby sacrificing the commission he would have earned. As far as that person who complained about his bedside manners, I’m not sure what that is all about, but I personally had received multiple calls from Dr. Kaye at 7 and 8 o’clock at night to discuss my situation. In my almost 60 years, I have never received a call at home from a doctor after hours.
I am 55 On May 6th 2019 Dr Kaye removed my cancerous prostate, using a davinci robot. My catheter was in for only 10 days thank God and I never had to use anything stronger than 500mg Ibuprofen. 11 days after my surgery and just one day after my catheter was removed and without any blue pills,I had sexual intercourse with my wife. It's Oct.9th and I'm at100% Sex normal, exercise normal, and no incontinence! I had some brutal wait times early on ,and granted he ain't the warmest of bed side manners ,but #@*% that! He's a damn good surgeon. My follow up x-ams were negative also
I saw Dr Kaye for kidney stones, and my experience had both positives and negatives. On the plus side: he explained things during my pre-surgery consult just fine. And he performed my surgery just fine. The negative: "bedside manner" can be brusque! Not always, but I never knew what to expect. The removal of my stent was extremely painful. Also, I had to strongly advocate for myself about metabolic test results. He seemed like he couldn't be bothered "I may not have them back yet", but I refused to leave until he actually checked. Turns out he actually had them and there was significant information! He then referred me to an ENT when what I actually needed was an endocrinologist. Bottom line, he is good if you are in an emergency situation. Otherwise, if I had it to do over again I would find another doctor.
