A member in good standing with the Illinois Society of CPAs, he has a full range of alphabetical abbreviations behind his name – a list that is growing. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in accounting (the CPA) and Business (his MBA) from DeVry University.
While his educational endeavors have helped lead to his success as an accountant there was clear evidence of his suitability for the profession long before he stepped into his first college classroom. In grade school, and in high school, Eric consistently demonstrated a proficiency in mathematics. In high school, he took a bookkeeping class that piqued his interest. Noticing Eric’s success in the class, the instructor suggested he might want to consider accounting as a career choice.
First, Eric made a stopover, for four years, as a yeoman in the U.S. Navy. This experience also enhanced his expertise as he worked with computers, with Microsoft Word and Excel keeping records, completing reports and, of course, working with numbers. He served in the Desert Storm Campaign, when Saddam Hussein was driven out of Kuwait and his commitment and ability were acknowledged with the Navy Achievement Medal and Letters of Commendation.
After the Navy, and after graduating from Michigan State University, Eric took a position with PepsiCola in Accounts Payable. In 2001, he left Pepsi to join Liberty VW Libertyville where he works in Accounts Reconciliation. He balances leases to ledgers and has dealt with more than 700,000 accounts.
In his free time, Eric golfs, plays guitar and rides his Harley. He’s also active in the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, the Richmond/Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce, the Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Waukegan Chamber of Commerce.
