If that is the case then you probably are not too familiar with the subject. MI&T opened its doors in Memphis to educate people just like yourself on the truth about indoor mold growth. While indoor mold growth can most certainly cause health issues, there is also a normal amount of mold spores around us both inside and outside. Our company set out to fix a problem in the mold industry where remediation companies exaggerate things to the client in order to get a job. What exactly do we do? Well all of our inspections start with a detailed visual check where we use state of the art technology like moisture meters and/or thermal imaging cameras to locate water intrusion and excess moisture. The certified mold inspector will also collect an inside vs. outside air comparison to determine if elevated conditions exist or not. We may also recommend additional samples to help pinpoint the source of an issue or see how far a problem has spread. These samples will say not only what species of mold is present but also provide the quantity. This is extremely important because the presences alone is not necessarily an indicator of a problem. We'll also pick up Stachybotrys AKA Toxic Black Mold, which IS automatically a failed test.
In the event one of our clients does have a mold problem, we will provide a detailed report on how to fix the issues.
