From start to finish we worked with Susan and it was an incredible experience. She was so personable and attentive to two homeowners who have never been involved with large renovations. Susan was responsive and very patient to our questions and was willing to do site visits to speak with our GC. Her drawings/rendering were incredible and easy to follow for the GC.
I was just in with my son to get paint. My son gets very bad anxiety in places he's never been. The employees were amazing. They let him come behind the counter and watch the entire process of the paint being mixed. He absolutely loved it.
We just went to Monmouth Builders looking for a special type of wood for a mantle. We were so pleased with the wonderful customer service! “Herman” patiently listened to our ideas and found the perfect wood for our project. “Matt” then added trim and we were set !!! Rosie was happy to meet new friends and get a dog biscuit when going to the showroom. Wonderful local business!!! Please support this great business. Please stay safe and well.
I used Monmouth builders for a small lumber order for a house project. Overall the service was good and the turn around was fast. My biggest issue was that one of the boards had a huge chunk missing and another board was 2 feet shorter than I ordered. It was my fault for not realizing right away and I didn’t call to get this fixed as we were thankfully able to make it work for our project. I wish they had paid a little more attention to detail since that would have ensured I would use them in the future as we have many projects planned in our new house. Just disappointing.
Strange that the negative reviews on Google are all about lack of customer service. I have the opposite opinion based on several years of being a customer. My humble opinion is that the customer service there is actually the strongest part of their operation. I'm guessing some of the negative reviewers here don't appreciate the manner that they were spoken to, but I can almost guarantee the actual information they eventually received was spot on. Salesman Mike B is a delight to deal with and always trouble shoots issues for me to make sure I get the right solutions for the least price. Monmouth Builders paint department is absolutely top notch. You won't find sharper people selling paint than here, the paint counter people have a ton of experience. I highly recommend Monmouth Builders.
Been a few years since been here on pretty constant basis but sent my clients the Pollers here to sort out their cabinets for kitchen and two bathrooms and the service upstairs was excellent and in 3 hours they got everything done on a Friday morning and verified at house by designer that afternoon after a snowstorm and Monday the order was placed. good to see old faces Randy Lester and the Gang also . always great to do business here
Horrible customer service, we walked not one person says hi , and no one asked if need helpp, won't be back,
Great selection of building materials, painting supplies, plumbing, electrical, gardening supplies, & cleaning products. Weather you be first time home owner or a professional contractor this place will have what you need. The staff is very knowledgeable, & helpful. They have a nice assortment of cedar, redwood, walnut, red oak & mahogany to name a few. Lots of cool stuff.
Excellent place to get Benjamin Moore Paint, not to mention other products. Maria is such a big help in choosing colors. It's very overwhelming with so many choices. Her knowledge, good taste and patience makes it easier.
Review of Monmouth Building Center- Kitchen Designers Completely renovating a kitchen is a big project but buying our cabinets from Monmouth Building Center made it so much easier. We shopped around the area and spoke to and got quotes from Home Depot, Lowe’s, Builders General, Red Bank Cabinet and a couple others but they differentiated themselves and were clearly better. Most of that differentiation was due to the outstanding kitchen designer Susan Meeker Paul and the cabinet maker Jay Rambo. Susan was a pleasure to work with and had a responsiveness, attention to detail and follow up like no other. Once we had our initial basic design, she made suggestions how to improve it and really enhanced the final plans and drawings. She did way more than suggest the Jay Rambo cabinets and actually helped manage the entire process from the final plans she produced to ordering, delivery and installation. When the cabinets were delivered to my home directly from the factory she was there to check each piece off the truck and ensure they weren’t damaged. This cabinet company wrapped and protected the finished cabinets like fine china or crystal so there was no chance of any defects in transit. When the cabinet company made a small mistake on the order and delivered two small drawers instead of one wide drawer, Susan had them rush an order through with a new wide drawer in record time so our final kitchen was not delayed. When my contractor was installing the cabinets and somehow lost 15 hinge covers, Susan got them shipped in quickly. Whenever I reached out for help or had a quick question, she responded immediately. When doing a total renovation of a kitchen there are many, many decisions to be made. Susan was also a valuable consultant to bounce off ideas or ask her opinion what would look best in this updated kitchen along the way. The Jay Rambo cabinets were everything Susan said they would be and are very high quality at a fair price which we thought was a good value compared to others. Their cabinets are manufactured in Tulsa, Oklahoma and are semi-custom and they did special pieces for us that exceeded all of our expectations. Our renovated kitchen is complete with all new appliances and it looks amazing including the new quartz countertops from Bedrock Granite. But the extra bonus was the project was completed on time without any unforeseen delays and the cabinets were delivered in the time frame she promised. This made the difficult transition from demolition to brand new kitchen a much simpler process thanks to Susan.
