Monroe Plan for Medical Care is a not-for-profit health care services organization that has been meeting the needs of our members in the Greater Buffalo, Rochester, and Finger Lakes Regions for nearly 50 years.
For more than 45 years, Monroe Plan for Medical Care has been providing superior health support services to the Rochester and Finger Lakes regions. Consistent with its mission, Monroe Plan supports low-income individuals, the working poor, and other populations served by government-sponsored programs to improve their health status and that of their families.
Monroe Plan for Medical Care serves as the parent company to YourCare Health Plan, a free or low-cost health insurance program, and MP CareSolutions, a comprehensive partner in assisting other health care organizations with eliminating the barriers to providing the best quality care.

Monroe Plan partners or contracts with health insurance organizations to manage their safety net programs. Our members come to us through these partner organizations. Once a person enrolls in Medicaid Managed Care with one of our partner organizations, Monroe Plan steps in to manage that person’s health care. Our employees take an active role in facilitating access to high quality health care services for all our members, empowering members to take an active role in their health, fostering effective partnerships between patients and providers, supporting caregivers in delivering high quality services, and collaborating with community groups on issues affecting the health needs of patients and their families.
