This is a magical library. Just to be near the trees makes it worth the trip to come here! I took this picture the night before the hurricane we had here in August. There was a musician to my left playing a beautiful mix of jazz and electronic music - the music was gentle, the sky was stunning & the library just pristine! This night was special, but the music happens all the time. Thursday, Friday & Saturday I always hear someone playing live music nearby when I come at night! Over the summer they have a live bands every week for a month or two and a huge crowd of people of all ages is singing along & dancing, in the library park! It is really a wholesome & heartwarming vibe. They have regular events throughout the year in the park surrounding the library. It’s a beautiful place to come & spend the day. There are tons of restaurants on Myrtle & you can go hiking 5 minutes away. Inside of the library is also beautiful. Excellent selection of books, I always leave with a new stack of books that inspire me! There is plenty to room to sit and work and huge windows overlooking the trees! You can also sit outside under the trees, there are picnic tables and a beautiful fountain in the front & a huge back area with more trees, tables & a playground. Plenty of parking on the street. This library is a relaxing & uplifting place to visit!
The building is very nice. However, people are talking super loudly for more than 2 hours, and no staff tries to stop them when they walk around and see it. This happened many times! People can discuss, but should be in a lower sound, or at a specific area. Moreover, some people play videos or watch news on their phones without earphones! Still, no one stops them. Do they care about people who prefer a generally quiet reading place? And, I do not know why there is no suggestion box in the library. By the way, the staff are always friendly. I am not sure whether it is their duties to stop people from making noise.
I was there for the Ralph Walker's Bench Unveiling, sponsored by KGem Studio. The Walker Family, friends and Monrovia Mayor Becky Shevlin and Mayor Pro Tem Larry Spicer and Council member Sergio Jimenez and MAD Town Council Member Terrance Williams and Michelle Wright, and Community Media of the Foothills Board Members; Rena Delgado Chair, Barbara Gholar Vice Chair, Board Members Doug McComb, Dirk and Robert Grimes. Exc Director David Palomares and KGem staff.
I love visiting libraries, and this is one of my favorites. It's big, clean, and so much for us to make us of. The park outside is awesome pretty awesome. Big trees for shade, tables to picnic, and lots of good shopping all around.
There's no other place for me but for Monrovia Library!! I come Tulare because it's the best resource for me for my resume, the calmness of it then DVDs and I love just to read on the couch.
Once again I love my love you're born and raised here True Monrovian. Is what I call and name the raw real the reality of where I was born and raised and found myself. The Monrovia library is where I go to work, study and view the big tree everyone knows.
Beautiful Fire works show. Well organized. I highly recommend it.
what a beautiful event. Monrovia always has the best concerts. Stone soul outsranding
Must visit library if you live around here. It is situated in the park. I’d usually relax in the garden after the library closed
I've never been so in love with a building before. Okay, I have... but this is just gorgeous. My New Year's resolution was to visit the library often and read at least two books a month I know that seems very little, but you do NOT know my schedule. So far so good. Free library card. Free book rentals. Free movie rentals for old movies, $1 for new Free parking This place is gorgeous and there are tons of places for you to read and study. I would come here to just sit and read my book. No one bothers you and you have a plethora of books at your disposal! They have a large selection for Jr and adults. :D Beautiful library!
