I absolutely love this hospital. We’re first time parents and was nervous for the process. But they made it so pleasant for me that I cannot thank them enough. Dr. Pali has been with me since day one of my pregnancy. Finding a doctor who connects with you and cares is hard to find so I am extremely grateful to find her. She is knowledgeable and caring and communicates with me every step of the way of my pregnancy. She has always made me feel calm and happy during my pregnancy even until after I gave birth. I want to thank everyone in labor and delivery team. From the moment I came in they made me feel very comfortable. They walked me through the game plan they prepared, and made me feel comfortable to ask any questions that I have. I had nurses’ Samantha, Lizzy, Liza, Jacob, Pam, nurse Chicago and more than I remember. I had nurse Teresita for my baby and she was fantastic. Everyone was amazing and helpful every step of the way. They helped my learn how to properly breastfeed my baby and they took the time which I am grateful for. No words can ever describe how grateful I am for their team. I know I’m missing out a lot more but I truly want to thank everyone for all they help they provided.
The hospital is understaffed. The level of care in a third-world country is higher. I am amazed that this hospital is allowed to operate. If I could give negative stars, I would, and that would be generous. Every other Google review I have ever done has been five stars.
Very disappointed in this hospital. Disappointed in the treatment my parent is getting by his physicians, nursing staff. The conversations I've had with staff, coming to visit my parent and the lack a knowledge, guidance and respect from ALL staff. The cafeteria staff being disrespectful to my mother. What an awful hospital! They should be a shamed of themselflves. Every single member. It says it's a teaching hospital. They need to working on teaching. People skills, culture etiquette, hospitalist skills. I could not picture any resident their I came in contact with working in any other place then an awful hospital like this one.
While visiting a friend who is currently inpatient I realized there aren’t any signs directing and informing visitors of hospital locations. No signs by the main lobby elevators to direct you to units or floors. No signs when you get off the elevators to direct visitors to their loved ones. I walked around looking at doors reading small signs. Nope! No signs for location. There was a sign more like an education on symptoms of a stroke. The ICU had no sign. There should be signs to assist visitors or employees in location
I think this will be my second review on this hospital. Again I had a great experience with the maternity department. I gave birth to 4 of my 5 children here and they all went smoothly. I was recently here to deliver my daughter and once again had a great experience. Had my doctor from day one, Dr.Ared Garan there to deliver my baby and as always he made my experience comfortable. During my stay, my sonogram specialist Dr.Divine who works with Dr.Garan, visited me in my room to check on how I was doing. The nurses I had throughout my stay were very sweet and caring. The only things I have to say in regards to improvements are to have some upgrades on the unit. I know the building is old. Their air conditioning needs in improvements. My room was comfortable, but when you come out of the room to use their shower, the hallway is very sticky and humid. Also it would be nice to have the showers in the rooms. Another suggestion is that they should update their system to EPIC so the other Montefiore facilities has access to the patient’s records. Other than that, I would recommend this hospital to all pregnant women. I was well cared for.
I would give them zero stars, it a shame how unprofessional the staff is during a time when patients are not feeling well. The food is not even edible, they should be ashamed to even serve the food. God forbid they spent some money to give patients palatable food post a major operation. During an already stressful time, we now had to run out to get meals for my mother to be able to eat. Nurses have an attitude. Worst hospital, and really sad my mom has to be so upset during her time there. I don't know how anyone can try to get better in such a horrible environment.
My mother died in this hospital July 2023. I was on the phone with my mother while she was being discharged after being admitted for dizziness. They said her potassium was low, ran some other test and discharged her 3 days later. I was on the phone with my mom and as she was waiting to leave, dressed, and all she told me she was having chest pain. She told the doctor, and I heard him say ok I'll be back and left her in the room alone. I thought my mom maybe had gas pain. She went to ask for tea. I hung up the phone, and about 15 munites later, they were calling me saying they found her dead in the chair. I'm DISTRAUGHT. HOW YOU leave a person complaining of chest pains alone! I blame this hospital and want to sue! They are negligent! Now i want to want to know actions I can take!
The front desk young girl is extremely rude. I understand she’s probably fed-up with the amount of people that come here and complain about pain but it’s not no one’s fault. She chose the job. Specially when you’re with a baby walking into the ER. Everyone that walks in emergency has a Reason why they’re stepping in. I’m sure no one comes here for fun. She welcomes people with the most nasty attitude. I understand she probably doesn’t care about her job but should fake it a little bit to not make people feel so horrible.
This is NOT a bad hospital. I travel here from the Bronx and when I tell you... this place is waaaaay better than the hospitals around me... words can't even express. I've given birth twice and am about to give birth again here. The doctors are amazing and so are the nurses. I've also been to the ER and it's a lot more normal and clean than those city ERs. My only grip is that lately they've been understaffed and it's affected some of my appointments and time spend there but overall, this hospital is great and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
I was just at New Rochelle montefiore maternity ward the staff was excellent. They communicated everything that was been done i felt very comfort i had a beautiful baby boy I would recommend there maternity ward anyone day ..The environment was clean and everything was on point from you go in until you leave . I had a private room with my own shower and that was a plus for me.I love Dr. Rodriguez and his staff they did great a job ......
