Bit rundown, few machines are broken, can't expect to much from a 24hr laundrette. $2.25 for single load machine, 50c per 10min for the dryer. Pretty safe feeling area considering we are here at midnight.
Between the entitlement of other patrons, broken machines, crapped out heating elements, and decaying floors, I don't recommend coming here. Normally I treat other patrons at laundromats with courtesy and kindness that I would want in return. Upon entering, I was greeted with a rather rude "regular" that decided all the 4 load dryers were his to claim. His whole attitude continued as he complained about the odor from our dirty laundry was upsetting him, us using a washer near his was "in his way," and our presence here was just bothersome, in his eyes. Next is the facility itself. Between no knobs on the sink which has a dirty basin, might I add, floors that look like they haven't been maintained nor repaired in 20 years, legitimate puddles of water, rust eating at the base of the washers, dust collecting on top of every machine, and machines that could use new heating elements or literally doors on them, I have little expectation of my "washed" clothes actually coming out clean TL:DR take the extra time to go to Seaside to do your laundry
Rating on the fact that as far as I'm aware, it is the only 24hr laundromat in the area, I would say 5 stars for convenience, but the laundromat itself leaves a lot to be desired. First off, upon entering, I was surprised to see that the floor throughout was flooded, some areas of the floor having up to an inch of water. Not sure which machine this water was coming from, but it appeared that all of them were very old and not well maintained and in disrepair. Not a huge deal for me, since I was wearing flip flops. I just thought it was interesting that the business owners would leave it like this, due to the idea that someone could slip and potentially sue. As mentioned the machines are old, some may even be considered antiques at this point, but the ones I used did in fact get the job done, with no residual smells or anything left behind like I expected so that was good. The coin machine is temperamental and the other one is out of order when I was there. Bring your patience, don't worry they're open 24/7. As far as the area, it was safe and quiet as expected in PG. Overall, I'd say for the situation, I was happy it was there for my use, but as far as what they charge, they should be maintaining the place better, or drop their prices down so people know what to expect upon entering. This place could potentially be considered off putting by some folks.
The laundromat is and has been permanently closed. If you need to do laundry overnight, go to the STL on Broadway in Seaside. It's not much to brag about either. Most of the machines work and the dryers will roast your clothes if you're not careful.
First time was okay second time was TERRIBLE. I don't think I'll be coming here again, maybe just to dry. I spent over $40 for my clothes to still come out dirty. I ran some of the machines three times. One of the driers got too hot and burned my clothes. The washers just spread the dirt throughout the rest of my clothes and added unnecessary wear. I will probably have to throw away a lot of them now. One of the machines made my clothes smell very odd so I had to wash again in a different machine. I could have gone to a wash and fold for what I spent here and had someone do all of this for me. I in fact missed my hotel reservation because I was here all night trying to clean my clothes putting me out an extra $70. I have never spent so much time at a laundromat for my clothes to come out the way they did. In total I spend over $100 at this place if you really think about it, do not come here if you do not have to.
24-hour laundromat in Monterey, which is a plus. It was clean enough and in a nice area of town. Looked a little old, but it cleaned the clothes well enough. Like most commercial dryers, the dryers run hot as Hades, be forewarned. The prices were on the high end. The big plus about this place is that it's always open.
The inside isnt much to look at and it smells a bit sulfur-like. However, the 4-load machines did well with the big comforters 2-3 queen size each with plenty of hot water. They had plenty of Large dryers to accomodate them as well. My clothes all smelled fresh and clean. 5.50 for 4-loader wash and 50 for 12 min dryers, too about 36 min for loads to dry. Reasonable and NOT busy. Part of time i was alone.
Open 24 hours - sets this place apart. Bit the facilities are kinda rough. More than half the machines are out of order. Dryers got the job done. Didn't use the washers. A building / alcohol permit is on the door so not sure if plans for a remodel is planned. Anyway, did I mention it is open 24 hours? Place is well lit and feels safe as it is on the well lit Pacific Grove main street. And it's open 24 hours.
A lot of the washing machines and dryers are broken and in case you have a problem there is no one working there. Also there's usually trash on the floor. There are two machines that you can get quarters from and although I haven't had a problem with them I've heard from other customers that they have. There is also parking spot that's 20 minute parking right out front so you can unload. But otherwise parking can be difficult. I use this place because it's cheap and it's location is convenient for me.
You need a good deal if quarters to use it. There's only one coin change machine and it was out of service. Fortunately, vending machine can be used to convert dollar bills into quarters.
