Our Sheriff Derrick Cunningham is one of the best. He has always had loving compassionate servants heart ! For years he has donated his time to the less fortunate and the community. And any time I have been to the Sheriff's office for any reason the people are always nice and accommodating to me. It is a hub for the community. The Officers have been nice and or helpful any time I have needed or came across them in public.
Seems to offer cool programs for the citizens of Montgomery AL, like allowing you to take a course on how to shoot a gun free of charge as well a place where you can get your pistol permit for just $20/year with a maximum of 5 years permit to allow person to open carry a pistol, they also offer free classes once per week for 6 weeks were citizens learn about the Police Department and Police work available free for all ages as well as offer a free service where you can post confidentially online the serial numbers for products in your home in case of theft. Sgt. Montgomery was reviewing a case on my house getting robbed. Come to find out he NEVER looked into it. It wasn’t until a month later I was told he works for a different department now and never looked into the information I gave him as to where the people who robbed me might live. Haven’t had much hope for the police in Montgomery. It’s sad.
The Civil Office where you obtain your conceal carry/pistol permit is the first door on the right after you go through security from entrance.
The clerk at the window is very rude They should put her in the back with an attitude like that;
