I bought a six pack of Smirnoff twist off bottles. I get home to enjoy one but the tops were extremely loose like they've been put back on. I go on to taste it but it tasted like somebody already swished it around their mouth. I tried to return them but they said there was nothing they could do about it. So I left them there. Safe to say they lost a loyal customer.
I like this store - however, the 40 something year old who stocks the alcohol is rude and offensive. After mumbling under his breath that someone was “r-tarded” an antiquated ablelist term because some cans of beer were in the wrong place, he tried scolding me for going into the back cooler when there’s an advertisement in the door window that reads “30 packs inside cooler”. Clearly, this individual needs a hug so if you’re in the store, please let him know you care so hopefully he isn’t in such a bad mood. I hope he finds some kind of joy in the New Year.
Wowsers! The selection's are out of this world! I knew what I wanted to get untill I walked in, I don't have to drink just American dealing with these guys! Yay!
The store recently changed ownership and the service is outstanding! The product variety is great and they’re also happy to get new products in upon request. They’ll even help carry purchases to your car when needed. What a breath of fresh air in Catonsville! I encourage everyone to stop in and make this your new liquor store!
TL;DR - I feel ripped off. Terrible customer service. Don't waste your time or money here. Today I went in to buy a bottle of rye and a bottle of vermouth. The cashier who, as other accounts will verify, was rude put both in a single flimsy black plastic bag .When I returned home, I didn't even make it to the front door before the handle of the bag tore and the bag fell to the ground, shattering the $30 bottle of rye. I immediately picked up the broken bottle and both pieces of the torn bag, and took them back to the store with my receipt. I politely explained to the owner what had happened and asked for a replacement bottle, but she refused. She insisted that the thin black bags they use were very strong, and that the only way it could have possibly torn was if I had mishandled it. I explained that my family had been shopping there for years and that we wouldn't come back if this was how I was treated; she was completely indifferent. I lost more money on that one $30 bottle than I ever saved using their coupons while shopping here. There are so many liquor stores in Catonsville with pleasant staff, don't waste your time at this one.
A nice selection of everything including wines and Liquors. For people who have difficulty picking out what they want, there's plenty of signage describing the characteristics of some of the products. This is also one of the few places where I have been able to purchase six packs of Soju and plum wine as well.
Nice variety of beer, wine and, liquor. The store itself was clean and organized. Employees are friendly, courteous and, helpful, even going so far as to carry my [heavy] purchase to my car. Would have given five stars but there are a few larger, nearby liquor stores with more extensive inventories with great depth of products. One even has a cigar room. Montgomery Plaza is the best liquor store in the immediate area. Trivia: Named Montgomery Plaza Liquors as the shopping center used to be still is? called Montgomery Plaza; around 1967 Montgomery Ward was built at the current location of Wal-Mart thus, the origin of the name
One of the employees literally stole my father-in-law's lotto winnings. When the dispute occurred, the employee refused to show my father-in-law his own winning ticket and paid out far less than what was won. Very disappointing from an otherwise fine liquor store.
Pretty good selection of beer, wine, and alcohol. Also one of the few places in Maryland I can find that has Flying Fish IPA beer which is a huge plus. Get the Flying Fish variety pack, you won't be disappointed.
Do they have the biggest selection of magnum bottles I've ever seen, yes. However, they will also tell you they have very rare bottles at a great price and then never actually have them.
