Find somewhere else to lay your loved ones to rest. Broken head stones all over the place, broken vases, sinking stones, and the maintenance team doesn’t care at all. I know for a fact there was 2 maintenance people caught drinking on the job and nothing was done to them. It was covered up and they allowed them to keep their job. I wouldn’t want my family being taken care of by inebriated workers. The holes that are dug are extremely unlevel and sometimes not deep enough or too deep. I’ve seen graves sunk in because they don’t tamp them like they are supposed to. They just drive all over the stones with machinery with total disregard to the head stones. Families pay to have the complete head stones installed and numerous stones have no vase buckets under the stones like they are supposed to. They have an amazing sales person Roberto who actually cares and does his job so families get what they pay for. As far as maintenance goes and care for the grounds it’s non existent.
My husband passed away September 2, 2022. His cremation and funeral was paid in full including the grave marker, before his service was scheduled. In less than a week my husband will be gone a year, and still is in an unmarked grave Every time I go by Montlawn to check on the status of his graver marker , Mr Oakley is very Condescending and rude. In one discussion with Oakley, I mention that there was nothing to identify the grave if family came by. The next time I went over, someone had put blue trim tape on his grave that just said”Ron”. Most of our family is buried at Montlawn and we have alway been satisfied with the service Montlawn has provided. Until now.
Today we laid to rest our beautiful Mother. My twin and I had her 60 long wonderful years. We wanted her funeral simple, but sweet like her. We were treated like family from the minute we walked in the front doors. We met Scott Wheeler, Lisa Stacey and John Paul Womble. This is what excellents looks like. The personal touches that these 3 exceptional people provided for us will never be forgotten. Momma would have loved everyone that was there for her.
One of my favorite cemeteries, if there is such a thing. I’ve performed quite a few military honors here over the years. The staff and service providers are very friendly and courteous.
Was quoted 3-6 months for delivery/install of standard memorial gravestone. Actual delivery was 14 months. Delays can be tolerated, what cannot be tolerated is the abysmal customer service. Over the course of 4 months leading up to receiving feedback it took 14 phone calls to be made aware of the delay. In each phone call, a promised call back from Montlawn was offered; no such feedback was received until 4 months of calling. Were unable to do a one year celebration of life due to poor service of cemetery. Were offered an apology and an excuse of being new/incompetent from management staff for our inconvenience. Please save your family the torture of having to suffer through this company's inability provide a reasonable standard of care that would be expected from a cemetery.
I have worked with Montlawn Memorial Park twice and each time they provided the need for our family. Michael Oakley was extremely helpful and patient throughout our entire process, making our load a little less heavy! I appreciate all Michael has done and I highly recommend his services to help your family!
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. I beg anyone to go elsewhere when putting their loved ones to rest. My father’s grave marker was broken off by some type of equipment last April and they have yet to fix it. $20,000 later and I call every other day with nothing being done. These people could care less about loved ones in the ground and only care about getting your money. Once things are paid for, the gravesite will not be maintained and you will never get the help that you need. I am absolutely appalled how someone could run a cemetery as a business like this. I thoroughly regret burying my father here with these selfish, inconsiderate people.
The process of funeral planning was caring and cordial as was the burial planning portion of selecting a plot, casket, vault, and grave marker for my parents who died six months apart. There were some issues getting the grave markers ordered and installed, but that was rectified in short order upon notifying the new management.
I am writing this from Arizona. I have been trying to order a marker for over a month now. I have been transferred over and over again to different people that assured me they will get it taken care of and still nothing. I have talk to Randall, Benjamin, and Robert. Each time being told they found the file that they had lost and that they were going to make sure it was taken care of. However, I’m still waiting and waiting and no one calls me back and nothing has been done. This is a terrible way to treat a grieving family trying to honor the only and final request of a loved one that has passed. I don’t understand why it seems to be OK to treat a grieving family this way about such a simple request. I am at my wits end over here. It’s just not right. And from what I read on reviews I’m not the only one that is being put through this. There is no worst feeling in the world knowing that all you were trying to do is honor the wishes of a loved one and no one seems to care.
My husband brother passed away unexpectedly. I had the privilege to arrange the funeral and burial. I had no idea what to expect in this process and even after doing my own research, it still was not clear. John Paul and Lisa at Montlawn helped me so much understand and accommodate to the family needs and resources. I have a 1 year old daughter and they were so lovely and just overall so helpful. I had to make several trips to the funeral home office because that’s just how it is. Today at the Funeral and burial service everything was just perfect and beautiful. They did outstanding work and i wish i could write all my experience in detail but i felt the support and love from them and the rest of staff.
