I had problems using the online reservation It was me so I called. Liz was very helpful and took my information. The sites are a very nice size. I have a large RV and tow a car and could fit in most of the sites. The restroom and shower house very clean with plenty of room. And the tile work is nicer than I've seen in people's houses. The campground very well taken care of. Roads maintained , lawn mowed and shrubs trimmed. Jeremy and Elizabeth are great hosts ! There is no doubt when I get back up their way I will be stopping in !
We cannot recommend Moosehead Family Campground enough! The sites are very well maintained, and there is a personal attention to making sure you’re in a suitable spot for your rig. It is a beautiful campground — very wooded, and much more like a state park campground than an RV site. There is a smartly stocked store, and very clean bathroom/shower building. That said, it is the owners that really make this a special place. They obviously care about what they do, and strike a really nice balance of being connected and available to their guests, but respecting privacy. For example, they would go on regular walks with their dogs through the campground, keeping their distance, but also always happy to chat. We came from New Jersey, and had never been to the area, so we were really unsure about where to stay — if that’s your situation, book here and you will have a great base station to explore the whole area!
Jeremy and Elizabeth were amazing hosts for our 4 night stay. The bathrooms are very clean, nice tiled showers, and great air circulation. Our site was large and private, and the ATV trail begins when you pull out of their driveway. Can't wait to return!Service: 5/5
If you’re looking for a campground that is as gorgeous as a state park, with sites large enough to stretch out in, near the gorgeous Moosehead Lake and surrounding areas, and with owners who are not only genuinely kind and caring about their guests, but also care about their property, you’ve found it. This gem is tucked out of the way so you feel like you’re in the secluded woods, but you’re just down the street from plenty of attractions and things to do. And did I mention the owners are some of the nicest campground owners we’ve ever met? It’s worth the visit just to chat with them.
Nice quiet campground near Moosehead lake in Greenville Me. Owners hosts are great people, very personable and will greet you with a smile when you arrive and throughout your visit. RV/TT spaces are Water & Electric only but they do have a dump station and pump out service. Some spaces are tight so be exact with your rigs size or call them. Tent only sites are in a wooded area and seem very adequate for small to larger tents. Bathrooms are very clean but the toilets are pit toilets this is camping. Small playground for the kids, ITS-ATV trail access, pet friendly. Small store onsite, but if you are stocking up less than a mile from the campground is a large one stop trading post, grocery and RV assessable gas/diesel station. Owners chickens will visit your site on occasion which is pretty cool. We were on site 24 with a 34ft TT.
I showed up to the office without making a reservation and they still found me a place to setup my tent. The owners are incredibly kind and invested in the quality of stay their guests have. The campground is only minutes away from Greenville and all the events and food available there. There's even a Trading Post a minute down the road if you end up needing any more groceries or camping goods. The grounds were easy to navigate and all the neighboring guests were pleasent and friendly as well. I even lucked out and arrived on the week where the campground held Halloween in August. It was a joy to see kids running around in costumes and having a blast! They also do a Christmas is July. Whether you're with a family or on a solo excursion this campground is the perfect place to stay to get the most out of your time at Moosehead Lake. Nearby activities: The Katahdin is an impressive historical boat that provides multiple types of cruises around the lake. There are also plenty of other museums in the area to learn more about the lake. Food & drinks: Downtown Greenville, 5 minutes up the road, has several cozy restaurants with tasty food. There is also a Trading Post that sells groceries and camping good about 1 minute up the road.
The RV campsite was perfect for what I was looking for. And the owners were very friendly polite and knowledgeable about the local areas and ATV trails providing me with a map of the trail system in the area. I can't say enough about what a perfect stay we had here at the Moosehead Family Campground !Rooms: 5/5
Nice little campground, nice people checked us in, they were very accommodating without reservations, as our other camping plans fell throughthe road to saboomook was totally impassable. Nothing too special as far as views or anything, but nice size sites, and they had some fairly private ones for our dogs. Bathrooms/showers were excellent, recently remodeled.
Really beautiful, spacious campground. All sites are large and you have enough privacy. The restrooms are just renovated, but the windows can't be closed so it gets freezing cold in there. But overall it's very nice and the staff is super friendly. Restrooms: No water toilets, but bit toilets.
Our favorite "home away from home" place to go camping!! The owners are beyond friendly & helpful. The sites are all laid out so nicely and have plenty of room. The bathrooms & showers have been beautifully updated! If you're heading to the Moosehead area, stop in & check out this great little gem, just a stone's throw from downtown Greenville!
