The sad little winery.. the winery is suffering from the heat and wear and tear… the inside tasting area had great nick backs wine stuffs. The outdoor garden is suffering from neglect and the were several dead plants…. So looking through to the other side toward the wine… in hope of phoenix rising… yeah no… the wine was old… bad… corked… complete Oxidation. When ask if the wine was tasted this morning I was told yes …. And that would be impossible considering the champagne had no bubbles and I gagged on most the wine.
They have a great fruit wine menu, 6 free tastings, a lovely patio to enjoy, CATS!, and Lisa who is a fun wine room hostess.
This cellar has a lot of variety of fruit wines. Beautiful location. The staff is educated about the wines and very friendly. Our nanny played with the kids on the grounds with our dogs and they also had a lovely time here.
How awesome of a place this is! The wine selection has something for everyone I feel like and a cute and serene place to enjoy in the back just through the double doors and gift shop area; where you will find a wide selection of hand made items and different items you would see in a boutique pop up but they are there all the time! Their customer service is something to come back for on it's own and the tasting process will not only enlighten you pallet but your spirit as well! Font pass this place up!
Love this place because of Lisa, our wine pourer. She was knowledgeable but she is also creative and talented. She was fun to talk to and she had a story for Ever wine inspired by the taste. Like how this one reminds you of a “bad breakup where it lingers and ...” go and she can tell you the stories. Love it and lisa just made our time there so enjoyable that I have to come back! Oh and forgot the Wine, it’s pretty solid!
Loved the place when tasting was free and always ended up buying three or more bottles. Disappointed on the $10 charge for limited 4 tasting. It feels like Napa to be. Unfortunately this will be my last time gooing there and Lisa is not even around anymore either.
Stopped by here last Sunday as part of the passport month for March. There was only one other group inside so we got plenty of time and attention from the woman working there. I believe I overheard her say her name was Laura. She was certainly very nice and knowledgable but she said the exact same descriptions and little stories for each wine. Every time she would describe a wine to the other group, we would get the exact same story. No change in tone or inflection. I guess when you talk about the same wines multiple times a day it gets to be like just reciting rote from memory. Anyway the wines were pretty good but we didn't end up buying anything.
A friend of mine just got into port wine. What is he, 90 and from Spain or something. I humored him and we came here. I am shamed by my 1st thoughts on his new love of port. It is delicious, Morgan Hill's version is smooth as silk. I so get it now. I will visit this wonderful winery outlet again when I've made more time for it.
Is an awesome, small/not corporate family owned? winery with a good selection of wines, including a large variety of fruit wines cherry, apricot, blackberry, etc. And besides being extremely knowledgeable, the main sommelier, Lisa, is wickedly funny!
If you meet up with Lisa here, you will have a great time bantering about wine in an unpretentious way. The wine is also enjoyable, if not spectacular.
