The Morton Fire Department is an ISO Public Protection Class 4 department within the Village. This puts the department in the top 15% nationally. Response areas outside the Village, including Allentown and Groveland, are a Class 8B. 8B is a special classification that recognizes a superior level of fire protection in an otherwise Class 9 area that lacks firefighting adequate water supply. There are only 21 Class 8B ratings in Illinois.
