The Museum is located at the intersection of Poplar Avenue and North Main Street just off the Town Square.
Mr. Morgan Morton and his family gifted the building and grounds of the Museum to the Town of Collierville in 2008. After almost 4 years of fundraising and volunteerism by Collierville residents, the Museum opened in 2012. The Museum offers a permanent exhibition space, temporary exhibitions, a community art gallery, reading room, and event rentals. Extensive renovations to the building have transformed it into a vibrant community asset. The Museum boasts always free admission.
The Morton Museum acts as the gateway to Collierville's Historic District. Begin at the Museum, take-in the exhibitions, historic objects, and breathtaking architecture. Then continue your visit by strolling down Main Street, where you'll be greeted by a Rockwellian Scene: a beautifully landscaped Town Square with gazebo, one-of-a-kind boutique shops and dining experiences, and a historic train depot. The Morton Museum has a gift shop that includes custom Collierville items such as coffee mugs and postcards. Books and other merchandise related to the local area or special exhibits are also available. The Morton Museum can only accept cash or check payments.
