I've just shopped in this supermarket today & it was nice & clean, & VERY WELL ORGANIZED! It kind of looked like the store was a mini-market compared to the one I've went to was on 2nd avenue east 21,, 22 or 23 st. I forget. I've came across & discovered Morton Williams Supermarket back in October. This Morton supermarket was quite bigger & of course very organized. The first time I've shopped there they had some New flavors of flavored bottles of water called hint. Plus I also bought some kind of orange juice that came in a tall narrowed shape bottles. The taste wasn't what I expected to be, but surprisingly I've craved for the second bottle! Anyway, the store was CROWDED by standing in the long line, twice when I went back to buy some more of that New flavors of hint water. And last but not least, the cashiers were Nice too.
This is an upmarketish, very small look at the size of those trolleys corner supermarket. You wouldn’t want to use it for routine shopping as it would drive you nuts getting around the tiny aisles. Not much room to navigate the store and the deli is up stairs so you can’t take your trolley up there to shop. Navigating the exit seemed difficult for one lady on a walker who couldn’t navigate the ramp without help. Fruit and vegetables looked and smelled great, selection was pretty varied.
Why does Morton Williams hire the nastiest people? Both this location and the one on 2nd and 23rd St have the nastiest people. They clearly hate their jobs and don’t try to hide it. Is this store paying them 10 cents an hour that they can’t hire anyone else? I will literally walk further to avoid these stores because the employees are so rude and apathetic. I called this location to check if they are in fact open 24 hrs often times google is wrong about store hours and as soon as I asked my question the woman hung up on me. I called back and with a nasty attitude she said “yes we’re open 24 hrs”. Avoid Morton Williams if you can. Customer service is non-existent and they don’t care.
Disgusting environment for workers. Managers heavily discriminate against workers of color and tend to pick on them the most. It sickens me to work here and see the condition of where the food really comes from in the basement. Dripping rusty water , giant roaches all over the place, spoiled meat that is refurbished and then put back on shelves. This is by far the worst most unsanitary location of Morton Williams
The people were ok but there's something odd about them. There's an unwelcoming kind of cotton picking plantation energy about that store.
I like the Morton market. A lot stuff fresh there.
Tried their Soups Monday and WednesdayVery tasty and No problem seems fresh to me. Will try other meals soon
This is the worst work place, one of the manager she is really disrespectful to all of the staff members. I worked there for 5 months and I can tell you is one of the most disgusting supermarkets.
It’s the worst personel and workers ever. The supermarket is good but they have to hire professional staff. They’re so mean and bad, other ladies are always shouting to the costumers. How come? If they have a personal l problem don’t bring to your work place and be mean to anyone. We don’t deserved to be shouted and treat like an animal. Fired those mean cashiers. They don’t deserve to work in your beautiful supermarket.
The worse cashier experience. I was in a line waiting enough for the previous customer to be finished. And when it was my turn, the cashier told me she needed to replace her receipt paper. And I noticed the next cashier didn’t have lines, so I asked if I could do it with her. And then she dramatically yelled at me that I can just stay, and it’s just a paper and stuff. So I said I can wait, but I had a train to catch. I only asked her if I could pay at the next cashier. And she went so dramatic, passing my groceries to the next cashier, saying, “you do whatever you want,” and kept grumbling about me until her next customer. I don’t understand what button she got pushed but I felt attacked and insulted for no reason. The only reason I can think of is me being Asian. She was polite and friendly to other customers but me. It was so so terrible to experience that almost traumatic. I’m never never going back to this store. The cashier was a black woman with long hair.
