A Catholic and Ecumenical Charismatic Covenant Community
Mother of God Community is a Catholic and ecumenical lay community. It is Catholic in that it is established in the Church under the authority of the diocesan bishop and the Apostolic See, and is faithful to Catholic teaching. It is ecumenical in that its membership includes Christians from other traditions, and part of our calling is to pray and work toward the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer, when his Body will be completely one.
Mother of God Community serves the Church first and foremost by helping its members grow in holiness through a life of prayer, conversion and committed relationships as brothers and sisters in Christ, so that they can in turn serve the greater Church. Members have experienced God’s superabundant love, and desire to respond with grateful hearts by bearing witness to Him in word and in deed. We share the good news of Jesus with others through personal testimony and through various community outreaches, including Life in the Spirit seminars, retreats for men and women, young adult evangelization, a youth group, children’s ministry, healing conferences, faith formation classes, Bible studies, healing prayer ministry, marriage enrichment, a liturgical arts guild, and Mother of God School, a Roman Catholic School (PreK-8) affiliated with the Archdiocese of Washington.
A personal and life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ through His Holy Spirit.
