If no stars were an option that would be the rating. I am a class of 2015 graduate from MVHS. This school is a hell hole. Do not send your children here. Mounds View High School prioritizes grades and numbers over the well being and learning of its students. There is no school counselor readily available for students, instead we're sent to talk to our deans. The deans only suggest "trying again" as the solution for every problem. Classmates of mine were self harming, cutting themselves at home and even at school and the administration did nothing when it was reported to them. Students suffered a rampant adderall abuse throughout the school in order to focus and maintain high GPAs and good grades because the school demanded them. This was reported by the school newspaper but the administration still did nothing to help the students. Classmates and siblings of killed themselves but the school has done nothing. A few months prior to 2015 graduation a classmate killed himself, we were offered onsite counselors for two days. After two days the school went back to operating as usual, they didn't care if we were mourning or not, so long as the numbers kept coming in. This school will ruin your child. Your children will graduate with good grades, a diploma, and some college credit --yes-- but that will be accompanied by weak self esteem, anxiety and paranoia, and a general lack of direction for their future. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE.
Good school years ago, didn't have many friends though.
