Our dedicated team of volunteer firefighters proudly service the Mount Carroll Fire Protection district.
Becoming a volunteer firefighter requires extensive training, hard work and dedication to the community. Smaller communities rely on volunteer firefighters to respond quickly to emergencies, to perform firefighting duties and to provide assistance and support to other local emergency agencies. Although volunteer firefighters receive little to no monetary compensation for their efforts, the chance to aid and serve the community is an extremely rewarding experience. Our usual roster size is a group of 25-30 individuals willing to risk their lives 24/7 to protect the Mt Carroll Fire protection district.
We are currently equipped with two engine pumpers, three tankers - including one 4x4, two brush rigs, one rescue rig, one personnel vehicle and a portable pump.
