The Mount Holly Community Historical Museum
Since 1969, the Museum has served the Mount Holly community. Collections include quilts, linens, clothing, Civil War memorabilia, farm, blacksmith and logging equipment, a former post office, artifacts from former local industries, school house items and a large photograph collection. The museum is home to a MAMMOTH TUSK that was found during the building of the railroad through Mount Holly. Mount Holly's Mammoth Tusk has been designated the Vermont Terrestrial Fossil.
The White Blacksmith Shop Museum site is located in Belmont on Tarbellville Road around the corner from the Belmont General Store.
The Perkins House Museum site, located on the Belmont Green, was donated to the museum in November 2004 by Alice Bennett and Todd McCabe and was renovated into a year-round facility.
Museum Hours: 12-2 on Saturdays and 2-4 on Sundays from July 4 through Labor Day and the 2nd weekend of each month year round.
Mission Statement ~ The Mount Holly Community Historical Museum, an organization of volunteers, aims to enlighten the community with an understanding of its past through the preservation, display, and storage of locally significant historical artifacts and records, and through educational programs.
