The Mountain Dude Facebook page is the go to location for every one who enjoys Mountain Climbing, Hiking, Kayaking and all out door sports.
The story began in 1999 when my Daughter Keely was born; as she grew and we hiked, her trail name became Mountain Flower.
A few years later in 2001 our first son Dalton was born. He was immediately nicknamed Mountain Dude. When he reached the age of three we started the Mountain Dude Club; going on family hikes, picking up trash and discussing the importance of being Stewards of Gods land to protect the earth. My wife Sue liked to ski, but climbing was not high on her list of favorite things. I would take off three or four weeks a year to climb the Sierras, Adirondacks, Alaska, rgentina, Africa and Mexico. Sue showed her support while watching me live my dreams, though it was a strain on our budget and growing family.

A week later I found myself laid off from my job of 16 years. Being out of work, without many prospects, I had plenty of time on my hands. Domain names are cheap so I bought mountaindude. com. I had been trying to dream up a plan to supplement my climbing endeavors. Hence, Mountain Dude was created during the 2008 economic down turn.
When traveling and climbing different places I always made it a point to bring home a climbing/skiing/kayaking T-shirt from the area. T-shirts are affordable; and bring back memories of the trip. I have worn the shirts like a badge of honor. I have always worn these shirts to rags
and regretted the day they went to the rag bag. I’ve always been inspired by cliché’s and words of wisdom thus the words of contemplation.
