Late in 2005, over 10 years ago a small group of concerned members of the Five Town community gathered to discuss how to bring affordable dental care back to Bristol. At this time, the town had lost its only dentist and residents of the five towns had to travel outside the local area of Bristol to receive dental services. The vision and inspiration from these grassroots meetings led to the coalescing of the Five-Town Health Alliance and the creation of the Mountain Health Center, Addison County's Federally Qualified Health Center that opened its doors in 2012.
This year, from the consistent dedication and perseverance of so many in our local and extended communities, from the spark that was lit over ten years ago, Mountain Health Dental Care opened on April 5th, 2016. The practice for our community is located in the Annex of the MHC Campus at 61 Pine Street, adjacent to the Mountain Health Center.
As is true of all FQHC's around the country, MHC is dedicated to bring not only affordable and quality primary health care, but also mental health care services, wellness programs and dental services to more members of the community.
We are especially excited about being able to provide long awaited services to the children in our community.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Mountain Health Center cares for a federally designated Medically Underserved Area (MUA). Mountain Health Center provides comprehensive primary, dental, preventative, and mental health care to people of all ages regardless of ability to pay.
