Mountain Home Lodge offers a wonderful vacation experience that everyone will enjoy. We are located in Marten River on beautiful Red Cedar Lake, 45 minutes north of North Bay.
For those that love to fish, Red Cedar Lake offers pickerel/walleye, northern pike, small mouth bass, and perch. It is one of the most prolific lakes in the area. Red Cedar Lake still remains a true Northern fishing paradise with 100 miles of undeveloped shoreline and provides the photographer with ample opportunities, from the soaring bald eagle to the flora and fauna. For the ATV enthusiast the area boasts many miles of old logging and bush trails. There is no need to trailer; all trails are accessible directly across the road from the lodge (area maps available). If you just want to relax at the beach, we have a sand beach and swimming area with a raft and beach toys for the children. For your entertainment we have a lounge with satellite TV, movies, and a small library. There is a separate games room with a pool table and an outside horseshoe pit and central fire pit.
Our lodge is situated in one of the best areas in Northern Ontario for bear, moose, and grouse hunting. We offer a very successful fall bear hunt over baited stands, transportation and assistance with harvested bears. For those that like to moose hunt we border on WMU 40 and 41. These areas are known for their healthy moose population.
We offer a modern fleet of aluminum boat rentals equipped with Yamaha motors, all the necessary safety equipment, swivel seats and fish finders. If you choose to bring your own boat, we have a concrete boat launch, ample docking space, and shore power. There is onsite gas and oil and a full bait and tackle shop. The fish cleaning station is closed in with electrical power, running water, and cutting boards. Our guests may use the row boat, kayak, and canoe free of charge.
Our 1 to 4 bedroom clean and comfortable cottages are well equipped with dishes, pots & pans, cutlery, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, electric refrigerator, propane stove, propane BBQ, and 3 –piece washroom (shower). We supply bed linens, blankets, and pillows. For the cool Spring and Fall nights all cottages are equipped with propane furnaces.
