Mountain Top Fire Co. is stationed in the village of Sandy Ridge. We currently have one engine rescue, one utility, one brush unit, and two ambulances. We also have a sub-station in Osceola Mills for our ambulance building.
The Mountain Top Fire Company is situated in the South Western portion of Rush Township in the village of Sandy Ridge at an elevation of 2040. We were organized in 1927. We are Centre County Station 13. Currently, we provide fire suppression, rescue services and emergency medical services with an EMS substation is Osceola Mills, Clearfield County. We are responsible for a population of approximately 1500 residence and provide EMS to another approximately 3000 residents. Our area is comprised mainly of a rural area including PA State Game Lands #'s 33 and 60 comprising 21,900 acres. We are responsible for a 10 mile section of State Route 350, which is the major connector route between the south from I-99 to US Route 322 West and I- 80 West. This route is a heavily traveled route for truck traffic.
It is the primary mission of the Mountain Top Fire Company to provide a variety of services to protect the lives and property of those in the response area of the Mountain Top Fire Company in Rush Township.
The secondary mission of the Mountain Top Fire Company is to provide, when properly requested, the same services to any community or agency.
