Would not even get one star if there was a choice. My three day old granddaughter is buried in here….somewhere. My daughter had to move across the country but she has tried to get a headstone and they have no idea what she’s talking about supposedly. She did have a placard marking the spot but that disappeared too so…where is Primrose??
Beautiful lovely Tom good place to walk good place to be buried and good place to have your family way to rest
Well kept up . Nice walk amongst many trees , easy to find family, relatives laid to rest next to each other . First time there was 1977. Returned again 1999 and more recently November of 2021...
Like others have mentioned, this is definitely the better of the two cemeteries in town. Lots of very large, mature trees make this a very shady place in the summer and a great place to get out of the heat. Lots of wildlife can be seen here, from turkey vultures and owls, to rabbits, rock chucks, deer, and even the occasional mountain lion or moose. Having family buried here, it's a great place to come and pay your respects. A very peaceful, large, and impressively well cared for cemetery. As with most cemeteries, the roads are all quite narrow, with the exception of the perimeter roads, which tend to be wider, naturally.
my Great Grandmother my Great Great and all of her daughters plus a husband have been resident starting in 1907. Its very easy to hind ancestors all you need are the coordinates provided by find a grave each plot section is attached to each section. I found them in 10 minutes.
I passed by this place on Sunday, July 19, 2020, on the way to my own Grandmother's funeral in Montana. While I didn't stop and visit the grounds, from the street, it looks very pretty, peaceful and there are a ton of trees.
If you want your relatives buried here, you better be ready to MAKE DAMN SURE that they do what you need or else they will "forget" to dig a hole to bury your relatives. And if they think no relatives live in poky they will not maintain the grave. The workers here are completely useless. Bury your relatives somewhere else so it actually goes as planned. Your relatives deserve better than this. This place is a sorry excuse for a cemetery if they can't even dig a hole in time for a weeks-ahead scheduled service.
There are two cemeteries in town and this is by far the better one. It has massive trees that shade the entire cemetery, and allows for above ground headstones. This cemetery feels very peaceful. Ironically though, of the two cemeteries in town, this one offers worse views of the mountains.
My daughter went to Pocatello to decorate my mother and father's and grandparents graves today. She sent me photos of the decorations and I couldn't believe the shape that the lawn was in. Here you have a cemetery with beautiful trees and there has been no maintenance to the lawn. Maybe the city is low on funds but it's an absolute disgrace to see people who live their whole lives in Pocatello be buried in a place with lawn in such poor shape.
Great place to walk around, massive trees and beautiful grounds
