Restaurant and service was phenomenal. Loved what we ordered. Movie and seats were also good. Only down side was arcade and bathroom. Few game selections, half of them broken and disappointing prizes. One “ticket prize” was 500 for a chance to win a small hand size cheap stuffy.
Went there for the first time because it was the only theater in the Lexington KY area to show the DCI Fathom Events "BIG Loud & Live 18" show. Tickets were $20 each as is typical. Unfortunately, we not only missed the first portion of the show due to technical issues, the live broadcast cut out an additional three times. Each time we had to track down a team member to re-establish a connection. The final time we actually moved theaters to one where the program was behind by 30 minutes. We advanced about 20 minutes beyond where we letft off, but still missed the final two shows. Those of us who stayed to the end did receive certificates for a future movie. The team members were helpful claiming the issues were with DISH and not their on-site equipment. Food was pricey $45 + tip but tasty for movie theater food. Overall not sure it was worth it.
1 Bring back beer/alcohol service to the seats. This was one of the best things about Movie Tavern. I shouldn’t have to wait in a long line and stress about missing part of my movie. 2 Staff and people are great 3 chairs and tables could do with a little updating. 4 not sure why we got rid of the blue buttons. What if I need something or something is not right with my order.
We went to see Jesus Revolution this past Monday and the movie was great! I was really surprised. Usually movies like this are cheesy but quite honestly, I would rate this one of the best movies of the year. However, the accommodations I.E., seating was very disappointing the seats we were sitting in had trays that had been vandalized. It felt like we had gone to see a movie in the hood and there was no way that we could tell if they were clean!
Meals have to be ordered online and someone will bring you the order during the trailers. What I watched was almost every order was brought out to the wrong people. In a move to save money by eliminating staff it has turned what was special and unique into a cold, sterile and horrible experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND just hit a drive thru on the way to the movie tavern. The food will be better, cheaper, hotter and taste better and you will receive your proper order. Movie Tavern has basically become a horrible version of McDonald's with a movie. Go see your movie elsewhere
We go to movies here almost every Tuesday. We joined the Marcus theatre club and buy first run shows for $5. We have been going here exclusively for years.Great popcorn too. We like being able to see movies and eat supper at the same time.
The movie was way too loud. My LO was covering her ears and trust me she likes the volume high at home! The food was not the greatest. Very dry. The popcorn was fine. The movie was awesome! Maybe better luck needy time!
Despite talking to staff, contacting support, and hoping for improvement this theaters continues to disappoint. The most recent trailer add in from Marcus touts that they have the best sound in the business. Not here. Sounds is good in maybe 1 theater. The rest sounds like a Honda Civic with a subwoofer in the back with rattling and distortion. Video is worse. The emergency signs shine on the screens so they’re green. The screens are torn, have dark spots, flicker due to lack of maintenance and poor frame rate adjustment. Bathrooms, seats, trays, lobby are all sticky and gross. Hopeful to improve this review given contact by management that illustrates any awareness of the issues or a plan to fix them. As things stand increased prices are crazy. Food prices are crazy. The theater is going downhill.
Enjoyed our first movie here. Loved that we could order a meal right from our seats with service and didn't have to stand in line at the concession stand. Food was good and prices not bad considering it is a movie theater with servers. Like that we could pick our seats and order tickets ahead of time so we could arrive pretty close to the time the movie started. We did alot time to order and get food for dinner. Clean theater, nice staff, good service.
My 1st time there.. Great place... Has real food more than popcorn and candy... Once done they bring it to your seat... Comfortable recliners even for bigger peopleI'm a little over 300lbs.. I'd suggest paying/ getting seats online before going just saves time.. Clean bathrooms ECT. Just a great place to go watch movies.
